Full Description

Prague Castle: cathedral, palace and Golden Lane

Prague Castle is the first place most pass holders go, and the pass covers the main circuit. St. Vitus Cathedral, begun in 1344, holds the tombs of Bohemian kings, the chapel of St. Wenceslas and the crown jewels chamber; the Old Royal Palace has the vast Vladislav Hall where knights once rode in on horseback; St. George's Basilica is the oldest surviving church in the complex; and Golden Lane is the row of tiny coloured houses built into the castle walls where guards and craftsmen lived.

Plan at least three hours for the castle circuit and go early, because the gates open at 06:00 and the buildings at 09:00. Within the same walls the pass also admits you to Lobkowicz Palace, a privately owned palace with paintings, musical manuscripts and a terrace looking over the city. Using the pass for Prague Castle tickets means you show the app's QR code at the ticket office and avoid buying on the day.

Jewish Museum and the synagogues of Josefov

In the Jewish Quarter the pass includes the sites of the Jewish Museum in Prague: the Maisel, Pinkas, Klausen and Spanish synagogues, the Old Jewish Cemetery with its layered tombstones from the fifteenth century onward, and the Ceremonial Hall. The Pinkas Synagogue walls carry the names of the Holocaust victims from Bohemia and Moravia, and the Spanish Synagogue has the most richly decorated interior in the city.

The sites are within a few minutes of each other and of Old Town Square, so a half day covers them. They are closed on Saturdays and Jewish holidays, which the digital guide shows for your dates. Modest dress is required inside, and men cover their heads in the synagogues. Many visitors combine Josefov with the Old Town in a single pass day.

Vyšehrad fortress and Loreto

Vyšehrad is the second castle of Prague, a fortress on a rock above the Vltava south of the centre, with the twin-spired Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul, the rotunda of St. Martin from the eleventh century, the brick casemates and the Gorlice hall that shelters original baroque statues from Charles Bridge. The pass covers the Vyšehrad sites, and the ramparts give one of the best free-standing views over the river bend.

Across the city in Hradčany, Loreto is a baroque pilgrimage complex with a cloister, a copy of the Holy House, a carillon that plays on the hour and a treasury famous for its diamond monstrance. Both sites are quieter than the castle and both are easy to reach by tram or metro, which the pass's navigation tool shows step by step.

National Gallery and National Museum sites

The pass opens the main collections of the National Gallery: the Trade Fair Palace with modern and contemporary art, the Schwarzenberg and Sternberg palaces on Hradčany Square, the Convent of St. Agnes with medieval altarpieces and the Kinský Palace on Old Town Square. It also admits you to the National Museum, whose restored main building crowns Wenceslas Square, and to its branches across the city, together with the Prague City Museum and Prague City Gallery sites.

Rainy days are where a Prague museum pass pays off: you can move from one gallery to the next without buying tickets, and the digital guide lists the opening hours, which are typically 10:00 to 18:00 with Monday closures at many galleries. Add the Museum of Decorative Arts near the Rudolfinum and the Illusion Art Museum for families.

Prague Zoo and the Troja valley

Prague Zoo in Troja, on the northern edge of the city, is among the most visited places in the country, laid out on a hillside above the Vltava with a chairlift, elephant and gorilla pavilions and the Indonesian jungle hall. A full visit takes half a day, so it suits the second day of the pass. Next door stands the baroque Troja Château with its gardens and frescoed hall, also included.

Getting to Prague Zoo takes about 30 minutes by bus from the Nádraží Holešovice metro station, and in summer a boat runs from the centre. Families usually make the zoo the highlight of a pass day and combine it with the Žižkov TV Tower observatory in the evening, whose deck at 93 metres gives a view across the whole city.

Bus tour and river cruises included

Beyond the attractions the pass includes three guided experiences. The two-hour Historical Prague bus tour drives past the main sights of the Old Town, New Town, Lesser Town and the castle district with commentary, a good first morning orientation. The Prague Venice cruise is a short trip in a small boat through the Čertovka channel under Charles Bridge, where the big boats cannot go.

The pass also gives you one sightseeing cruise on the Vltava from the Old Town piers, with views of Charles Bridge and Prague Castle from the water. Departure times and piers are listed in the digital guide; reserve your seat on the day through the app or at the pier. The pass also carries discounts on extra tours, shows and shops and a special fare on the one-day hop-on hop-off bus.

Good to know

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to what travellers ask us most, before they book.

Is this a shared or a private experience?

It is a personal digital pass. The attractions are visited on your own at your own pace, while the bus tour and the two cruises are shared experiences with other passengers.

How long is the pass valid?

The option described here is valid for two consecutive days from the moment you enter your first attraction. One, three, four, five and six-day passes are available in the booking panel if you have more time.

Is hotel pickup included?

No. The pass is digital and there is nothing to collect; you travel between the attractions on foot or by public transport, which is not included.

What is included?

One-time entry to more than 70 attractions including Prague Castle, the Jewish Museum, the National Gallery and National Museum sites, Prague Zoo, Vyšehrad, Loreto, Lobkowicz Palace and the Žižkov TV Tower, plus the two-hour Historical Prague bus tour, the Prague Venice canal cruise, one Vltava sightseeing cruise, the digital guide and discounts on extra tours and shops.

Is the price per person or per group?

The pass is per person, with adult and child or student versions for each validity length. The booking panel on this page shows the current price of each option.

Is Prague Castle fully included?

Yes, the main circuit: St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St. George's Basilica and Golden Lane, plus the separately run Lobkowicz Palace inside the complex. Show your QR code at the castle ticket office.

Is it suitable for children and families?

Very much so. Children aged 6 to 15 use the child pass, younger children usually enter the attractions free, and the zoo, the cruises, the TV Tower and the Illusion Art Museum are family favourites.

Is it suitable for reduced mobility?

The pass itself is fine; accessibility depends on each site. The bus tour, the river cruise, the National Museum and the TV Tower are accessible, while Golden Lane, the cemetery and Vyšehrad's casemates have steps and cobbles.

How do I activate the pass and when should I start?

It activates automatically when your QR code is first scanned at an attraction. Choose a day when you can start early, ideally at Prague Castle, so the full two days count.

Is the Prague pass worth it?

It pays off if you plan to visit the castle, the Jewish Museum and two or three museums or galleries over two days, and the bus tour and cruises add value on top. The booking panel shows the price so you can compare with single tickets.

What happens in bad weather?

Most of the pass is indoors, so rain simply changes the order: galleries and museums first, the cruises and Vyšehrad when it clears. Cruises run in rain with covered decks.

How do I book and confirm?

Choose the validity length in the booking panel and send the request. Our team confirms on WhatsApp within minutes and the digital pass is sent to your email with download instructions.
