Full Description
SKY Level 148: the highest observation deck in the world
Level 148 sits 555 metres above the ground, higher than any other public viewing platform on the planet, and it is the reason these Burj Khalifa tickets feel so different from the standard visit. Only a limited number of guests are allowed on the deck at the same time, so instead of shuffling along a crowded window you have space to stand at the glass, take photos without strangers in the frame and step out onto the outdoor terrace to feel the warm desert breeze at this height.
Before you go up, a guest host welcomes you in the SKY lounge, where light snacks, coffee and tea are served, and on the way projections make it look as if you are flying over the city. On a clear day you can follow the coast to Palm Jumeirah, trace Sheikh Zayed Road through the towers and see where the city ends and the dunes begin. Plan around 30 to 40 minutes up here.
Levels 124 and 125: the classic Burj Khalifa views
After Level 148 you take the elevator down to the main observation floors at 452 and 456 metres. Level 125 is a double-height space with floor-to-ceiling glass, while Level 124 has its own outdoor terrace, so you get two completely different angles on Downtown Dubai in one visit. Telescopes with digital screens let you zoom in on landmarks and switch between day and night views of the same spot.
This is also the best place to understand the scale of the city. Business Bay and the Dubai Water Canal curve to the south, the old districts around Dubai Creek lie to the north, and the sea shines in the west in the late afternoon. Interactive stations explain the engineering behind the tower, which opened in January 2010 and rises to 828 metres in total. Allow 30 to 40 minutes on these two floors before heading down.
The Dubai Fountain and Downtown Dubai from above
Directly at the foot of the tower lies the Burj Khalifa Lake and the Dubai Fountain, the largest choreographed fountain system in the world, whose jets dance to music and light. From the top the shows look like moving patterns drawn on the water, a view you cannot get from the promenade. Daytime shows run at 13:00 and 13:30 (13:30 and 14:00 on Fridays), and in the evening there is a show every 30 minutes from 18:00 to 23:00.
To catch one from the decks, book a slot about 30 minutes before the show you want to see, which gives you time to pass through and find a good spot at the glass. Around the lake you can make out Dubai Mall, the low roofs of the Souk Al Bahar and the boulevard of Downtown Dubai. After your visit it is worth staying for an evening fountain show at ground level, a short walk from the exit.
Visiting the Burj Khalifa: opening hours, best time and how to get there
Our time slots run from 10:00 to 19:00, and the slot you choose is the time you go up. The best time to visit the Burj Khalifa is the hour before sunset, when the light turns gold and the city switches on its lights below you; these slots sell out first, especially from October to April. Early slots are often clearer before the afternoon haze builds up.
How to get to the Burj Khalifa is simple: take the Red Line to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall metro station and follow the air-conditioned walkway into Dubai Mall, or take a taxi to the mall entrance near the observation deck. The counter is on the lower ground level. On the way out you pass through the construction exhibition, where engineers, architects and landscape designers tell the story of the build in short films, so keep 10 to 15 minutes for it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to what travellers ask us most, before they book.
Is this a shared or a private experience?
It is an entry ticket to a public attraction, so you visit alongside other guests. Level 148 is limited to a small number of visitors at a time, which keeps it far calmer than the main decks, but there is no private guide.
How long does it take?
Plan about 1.5 hours inside the attraction, plus 20 to 30 minutes before your slot to exchange the voucher at the counter.
Is hotel pickup included?
No. This is a ticket only. The Burj Khalifa is easy to reach by metro (Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station) or by taxi to Dubai Mall.
What is included?
Entry to SKY Level 148 and its outdoor terrace, entry to Levels 124 and 125, skip-the-line access through security and the elevators, a welcome by a guest host, the lounge with light snacks and hot drinks, telescopes and interactive stations, the construction exhibition and Wi-Fi.
Is the price per person or per group?
The ticket is priced per person. The booking panel on this page shows the current price for adults and children.
Is it suitable for children and guests with reduced mobility?
Yes. Children love the elevator ride and the views, and the booking panel shows which ages need a child ticket. The whole attraction is wheelchair accessible.
What is the difference between Level 148 and Levels 124 and 125?
Level 148 is the highest deck at 555 metres, with a lounge, a host welcome, an outdoor terrace and a limited number of guests. Levels 124 and 125 are the main decks at around 452 metres. This ticket includes all three.
What is the best time to visit the Burj Khalifa?
The hour before sunset gives you daylight, golden light and the city lights in one visit. Morning slots are often the clearest. From October to April the weather is cooler and visibility is usually better.
Can I see the Dubai Fountain from the top?
Yes. Book a slot about 30 minutes before a show: daytime shows run at 13:00 and 13:30 (13:30 and 14:00 on Fridays) and evening shows every 30 minutes from 18:00.
What happens if it is hazy or dusty?
The attraction stays open in all weather and the visit goes ahead. On hazy days the view is softer, but the telescopes and screens still help you pick out the landmarks.
What should I bring?
Your voucher on your phone, a charged phone or camera, and sunglasses for the terrace. A light layer is useful as the decks are air-conditioned.
How do I book and confirm?
