Çeşme Harbour and Castle
The day begins at Çeşme harbour, overlooked by the sturdy stone walls of Çeşme Castle, built in the early 16th century to guard the strait between the peninsula and the Greek island of Chios, which is clearly visible across the water. The waterfront is lined with fishing boats, excursion boats and cafés, and the old town's narrow streets climb gently behind it.
Arrive a little early to find the boat, choose your sun lounger and settle in before departure. If you have time after the cruise, the castle houses a small museum, and the seafront promenade is lovely in the evening. How to get to the Çeşme boat? The Islets off the Çeşme Peninsula
