Full Description
Madinat Jumeirah
Madinat Jumeirah is built to look like an old Arabian town, with sand-coloured walls, tall wind towers and wooden arches set along a network of calm waterways. At its heart is a covered souk of narrow lanes with shops selling lanterns, textiles, spices and souvenirs, and terraces that look across the water to the Burj Al Arab.
You have time to wander, shop and take photos of the lantern-lit canals and the small wooden abra boats moored beside them. Evening is the best time to visit Madinat Jumeirah, when the heat fades and the lights turn the whole complex golden. It is the longest stop of the tour, with free time to explore at your own pace.
Jumeirah Beach and the Burj Al Arab at night
From Madinat Jumeirah the tour heads to the public beach along the Jumeirah coast for a photo stop. Pale sand, gentle waves and palm trees frame one of the most photographed views in the city: the Burj Al Arab, a 321-metre tower shaped like the sail of a dhow, standing on its own island just offshore.
At night the tower is lit in changing colours, and the reflections on the water make it even more striking than by day. Bring a phone or camera with a night mode; the guide will show you the best angles from the sand.
Dubai Water Canal
The Dubai Water Canal is a 3.2-kilometre waterway opened in 2016, linking Dubai Creek through Business Bay to the sea at Jumeirah. Pedestrian bridges, walkways and lit promenades line its banks, and the illuminated waterfall bridge over Sheikh Zayed Road is one of the city's newest landmarks.
On this photo stop you see the canal at its prettiest, with the lights of Business Bay reflecting on the water. It is a quick stop, but it shows how modern Dubai has been shaped around water, from the creek to the coast.
Downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa
The final visit takes you to Downtown Dubai, the district built around the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world at 828 metres. At night the tower glitters above the lake, and on most evenings the famous fountain show sends jets of water dancing to music in front of it.
You have time to stroll the lakeside promenade and take photos of the tower and the surrounding skyline. Entry to the Burj Khalifa observation decks is not included on this tour; if you want to go up, ask us about adding a separate Burj Khalifa ticket on another day.
