Full Description

Your classic car and driver-guide

This vintage car tour Paris experience is as much about the car as the city. Choose a 1955 saloon from one of the first mass-produced cars with front-wheel drive and a one-piece steel body, with its long wings and running boards, or a 1971 saloon whose futuristic shape and self-levelling hydraulic suspension made it a symbol of French design. Both have been carefully restored and are driven by an experienced local driver-guide.

The tour is completely private: the car and the guide are yours, the pace is yours and the photo stops are where you want them. Pickup is at your hotel or any address in central Paris, and at the end you are dropped wherever you like. Because these are classic cars with narrow doors and no modern accessibility, the tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or travellers with reduced mobility.

Place de la Concorde, the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe

The classic route starts at Place de la Concorde, the largest square in Paris, where an Egyptian obelisk more than 3,000 years old stands between two great fountains. From here the car rolls up the Champs-Élysées, almost two kilometres of tree-lined avenue between the Concorde and the Étoile.

At the top stands the Arc de Triomphe, begun in 1806 and completed in 1836, about 50 metres high, with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and its eternal flame beneath the arch. Twelve avenues meet at this star-shaped roundabout, one of the most impressive drives in the city. Your driver pauses here for a short photo stop so you can capture the arch with your classic car in the frame.

The Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides and Pont Alexandre III

Next comes the Eiffel Tower, seen from its best viewpoint with a short photo stop. Built for the 1889 World Fair, the 330-metre iron tower was meant to be temporary and became the most famous silhouette in the world. A vintage car in front of it makes one of the most memorable pictures of any Paris trip.

The route continues past Les Invalides, built in the 1670s as a hospital for wounded soldiers and crowned by a gleaming golden dome, then crosses Pont Alexandre III, the most ornate bridge in Paris, with gilded winged statues and art-nouveau lamps, opened for the 1900 World Fair. On the Right Bank you pass the glass-roofed Grand Palais and the Petit Palais, built for the same exhibition.

The Élysée Palace, Place Vendôme and the Opéra Garnier

On the 2- and 3-hour tours the car continues through the elegant 8th arrondissement past the Élysée Palace, the official residence of the President of the Republic, and on to Place Vendôme, an octagonal eighteenth-century square of perfect stone facades around a tall bronze column.

A few streets away rises the Opéra Garnier, opened in 1875, with its golden statues, marble staircase and lavish auditorium of nearly two thousand seats. Your driver-guide tells the stories behind these buildings and the Haussmann-era boulevards that shaped modern Paris. A private tour of Paris by car is the most comfortable way to link these grand sights without walking long distances or waiting for the metro.

Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur

The 2-hour route climbs the hill of Montmartre, the highest point in Paris, for a photo stop at the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur. Built between 1875 and 1914 from a white stone that grows paler with each rain, the basilica watches over the city from its terraces, and on a clear day the view stretches across the rooftops.

Montmartre was once a village of windmills and gardens outside Paris, later famous for its painters and cabarets. Narrow cobbled streets and steep stairways give the area its character, and driving up in a classic car feels like stepping into an old photograph of the city. Sunset is a wonderful time for this part of the tour.

The 3-hour route: Notre-Dame and the Panthéon

The 3-hour option adds the heart of historic Paris. You pass Place des Victoires with its royal statue, then cross to the Île de la Cité for Notre-Dame Cathedral, reopened in December 2024 after the restoration that followed the 2019 fire, with its new spire rising above the Seine.

On the Left Bank the car climbs to the Panthéon, the domed neoclassical monument where the nation honours its great figures, at the top of the Latin Quarter. This is the most complete way to see Paris by car in a single outing, with the best balance of landmarks, neighbourhoods and photo moments, and you still finish with a drop-off at the address of your choice.

Children are welcome with their family; tell us their ages when booking. The tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or travellers with reduced mobility.
