Overview
Parasailing in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria is one of the easiest ways to see the sunny south-west coast from above. A boat takes you out of the harbour, you are clipped into a harness under a large parachute, and the boat tows you up over the blue Atlantic while the line is let out. You can fly alone, as a pair or as a group of three, and choose between a standard 150-metre line with about 10 minutes in the air or a 300-metre line for a higher, longer flight of about 12 minutes. Life jacket, harness, parachute and insurance are included, and the crew handles all the technical work. Flights leave at 10:00 and 14:15 from the harbour dock.

Full Description
Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, the sunny south-west
Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria is a resort in the municipality of Mogán, built from the 1970s around a sheltered beach at the mouth of a deep ravine. White apartment blocks climb the steep valley sides, and the harbour, with its marina and fishing and excursion boats, is the main starting point for water activities in the south of the island. This corner of Gran Canaria is known for some of the most reliable sunshine in Europe and calm water for much of the year.
The harbour is also where most boat trips, jet ski safaris and dolphin cruises begin, so it is easy to combine parasailing with a day on the beach. Puerto Rico's golden beach and the neighbouring Amadores beach are just a short walk away. For many visitors, parasailing in Puerto Rico Gran Canaria is the highlight of their stay: a few minutes in the air that show the whole coast at once.
How the parasailing flight works
After checking in at the office on the dock, you board the boat with the crew and head out of the harbour to the flight area. The crew fits your life jacket and harness and explains the simple safety rules. When you are ready, the boat picks up speed and the parachute fills with air, lifting you gently upwards as the line is let out behind the boat.
Once you reach full height you simply sit back in the harness and enjoy the silence and the view; the boat does all the work. At the end of the flight the line is wound back in and you are brought down calmly. Up to three people can fly side by side, which makes it a great shared moment for couples, friends or a parent with a child. No experience or special fitness is needed, only comfortable clothes and a sense of adventure.
150 or 300 metres: choosing your option
The standard option uses a 150-metre line and gives you about 10 minutes in the air, already high enough for wide views of the bay and the hills around the resort. The 300-metre option doubles the length of the line, so you fly higher and spend about 12 minutes in the air, with an even broader panorama and a stronger feeling of floating above the ocean.
Both options include the boat ride, the parachute and harness, a life jacket and insurance. If it is your first time or you are flying with young children, the 150-metre flight is a gentle introduction; if you love heights and want the longest possible view along the coast, choose 300 metres. The booking panel on this page shows the current price of each option.
The view from above and the best time to fly
From the air the shape of the south-west coast becomes clear: the curve of Puerto Rico beach and harbour, the dark volcanic ravines running down to the sea, Amadores beach next door and the long line of cliffs towards Puerto de Mogán. On clear days the water below shows every shade of blue, and you may spot boats and even dolphins far below.
Flights leave at 10:00 and 14:15. Morning flights often enjoy calmer air and softer light, while early afternoon is warmer and brighter. Schedules can change with the wind and sea, and the activity may be cancelled in bad weather, in which case you are offered another time or a refund. The best time to go parasailing in Gran Canaria is any sunny day of the year, which in the south means most of them.
