Behind the white houses and marinas of Bodrum rises a rugged interior of limestone hills, pine woods, olive groves and dry stone walls that most visitors never see. The peninsula's ridges hide small villages and quiet valleys, and from the higher tracks you catch glimpses of the Aegean and the bays below. This is the landscape of the Bodrum quad safari.

The quad station is a short drive from the town, so the activity fits easily into a beach holiday. Is the Bodrum quad safari worth it? If you want a change from sunbeds and boat trips, it is one of the most fun ways to spend an afternoon: you get fresh air, a little adrenaline and a view of the countryside you would not reach otherwise.

Briefing and Test Drive at the Quad Station

On arrival, the instructors explain how the quad works: throttle, brakes, steering, how to take bends and climbs, and the hand signals used on the track. Helmets are handed out and you take a short test drive in a practice area until you feel confident, with time to ask any questions before you leave the station.

Drivers must be 18 or over; younger guests ride as passengers behind an adult driver on the two-rider option. Wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes, and expect dust. The briefing usually takes around 15 to 20 minutes and is relaxed, so first-time riders quickly feel at ease. The instructors stay with the group throughout the ride.

On the Off-Road Track

Following the instructor in a line, you ride about 60 minutes on dirt roads and forest tracks: dusty stretches, loose stones, short climbs and, depending on the season, muddy patches and puddles that splash everyone. The pace is set for the group, with stops for photos where the view opens over the hills and pine forest.

The sound of the engines, the smell of the pines and the laughter on the muddy bends are the soul of the experience. Riders sharing one quad usually swap driving halfway, so both get a turn at the handlebars if both are adults. The best time for a Bodrum quad safari is spring and autumn, when the hills are green and the air is cooler; summer afternoons are hot and very dusty.

Return to Bodrum

After the ride you return to the station, wash off the worst of the dust, and our transfer vehicle takes you back to your hotel in Bodrum. The whole outing, including transfers, lasts about three to four hours, which leaves the evening free for the harbour, the castle promenade or dinner by the sea.

Photos and a DVD of your ride are offered at the station and can be bought separately. If your hotel is on a road the transfer vehicle cannot reach, you may be asked to wait at a nearby meeting point instead; our team tells you exactly where when we confirm your pickup time, so the process is simple wherever you are staying on the peninsula.
