A discover scuba dive is the internationally recognised way to try diving before committing to a full course. It starts with a relaxed briefing on how the equipment works, how to breathe from the regulator, how to clear water from your mask and how to equalise the pressure in your ears.
You then practise these skills in shallow water, standing depth, until you feel comfortable, before your instructor takes you a little deeper. Beginner dives stay shallow, usually no deeper than 12 metres, and the instructor is always within arm's reach. Diving at Palm Jumeirah
