Full Description
Telong Elong Harbour and the Road to East Lombok
The day starts with a drive across Lombok to Telong Elong harbour in the southeast, passing rice fields, tobacco farms and the fishing village of Tanjung Luar. The transfer takes about one hour from Kuta Lombok, one and a half hours from Mataram, close to two hours from Senggigi and up to two and a half hours from Bangsal in the north, which is why this is a full-day experience.
At the harbour you meet your crew and board a traditional wooden outrigger boat reserved for your group. This corner of Lombok sees far fewer visitors than the Gili Islands of the northwest, and the boat lets you hop between beaches and islets that are hard to reach by road.
Snorkelling at Gili Gambir and Gili Petelu
Gili Gambir and Gili Petelu are small islets off the southeast coast whose shallow reefs are among the best snorkelling spots in East Lombok. You spend around thirty-five minutes at Gili Gambir and twenty-five at Gili Petelu, slipping straight into the water from the boat to explore coral gardens alive with colourful reef fish.
Snorkelling gear is provided and your guide shows you the best areas. Visibility depends on the tides and the sea, and is usually best in the morning and in the dry season from about April to October. Bring reef-safe sunscreen and a rash vest to protect your skin while you float over the reef.
Pink Beach 1 – Tangsi Beach
Pink Beach 1, also known as Tangsi Beach, is the best-known of Lombok's pink beaches. Tiny fragments of red coral mix with the white sand and turn the shoreline a soft pink, strongest in bright sunlight. Low green hills rise above the beach, and the water is calm and clear for swimming.
This is the longest stop of the day, about two hours, with time for lunch, a swim and a short walk. The pink colour varies with sunlight, weather and season, so it may look different from photos on a cloudy day. Simple local facilities give the beach an authentic, unspoilt atmosphere.
Pink Beach 2, Pink Beach 3 and Tanjung Ringgit
A short boat ride away, Pink Beach 2 and Pink Beach 3 are quieter coves with their own patches of pink sand and turquoise water. At Pink Beach 3 a short hike leads up to views over the coast, and you have free time to swim, explore and take photos with hardly anyone else around.
For more adventure, the nearby headland of Tanjung Ringgit has dramatic sea cliffs and wide views over the Indian Ocean. It is reached by a local motorbike taxi paid on the spot, and your guide can arrange it if you wish. The short ride crosses dry hills and grazing land, and the clifftop views are among the most dramatic on Lombok's south coast.
Gili Pasir Sandbank
Gili Pasir is a natural sandbank of pure white sand that rises from the sea at low tide and shrinks, or even disappears, at high tide. Standing on it, surrounded by shades of turquoise and aquamarine with green islands on the horizon, is one of the most photographed moments of a Lombok Pink Beach tour.
Because its shape and size change with the tides, the crew may visit it at the beginning or the end of the day to catch it at its best. When conditions allow, you can relax here for a while and watch the late afternoon light before the boat returns to Telong Elong and our driver takes you back to your hotel.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to what travellers ask us most, before they book.
Is this a shared or a private experience?
It is private: the boat, crew and hotel transfer are for your group only.
How long does the tour take?
About ten hours with hotel transfers, or about seven hours if you meet us at Telong Elong harbour.
Is hotel pickup included?
Yes in the default option, from Kuta, Mataram, Senggigi and the Bangsal area. The meeting-point option has no transfer.
What is included?
Private hotel transfer, private boat and crew, local guide, snorkelling gear, all entrance and parking fees, lunch, bottled water and public liability insurance.
Is the price per person or per group?
The private options are priced by group size, so the price per person drops as your group grows. The booking panel on this page shows the current price of each option.
Is it suitable for children or people with reduced mobility?
Children from one year are welcome with life jackets. Getting on and off the boat at beaches requires some mobility, so it is not ideal for wheelchair users.
Why is Lombok's Pink Beach pink?
Tiny fragments of red coral mix with the white sand. The colour is strongest in bright sun and at the waterline.
Is Gili Pasir always visible?
No. It is a sandbank that grows at low tide and can be partly or fully covered at high tide, so the crew times the visit around the tide.
What should I bring?
Swimwear, a towel, a change of clothes, sunscreen, a hat, a camera, comfortable shoes and some cash.
Is the lunch halal?
Lombok is a mostly Muslim island where halal food is the norm. Let us know any dietary needs when you book.
What happens in bad weather?
If the sea is unsafe the crew may change the route or the team will offer another date; we keep you informed on WhatsApp.
How do I book and confirm?
Choose your option and date on this page and send the booking. Our team confirms on WhatsApp within minutes and arranges your pickup time.
