Full Description
Alpaca World
Alpaca World is a large farm-style park where you can meet and feed alpacas, and it is one of the most popular family stops near Seoul. You can buy feed to hand-feed the friendly animals, take photographs and see other animals such as deer, rabbits, camels and owls.
It is an easy, cheerful start to the day and a favourite with children. Walking with a favourite alpaca is available for an extra fee, and it is a good idea to wear shoes you do not mind getting dusty.
Nami Island (Namiseom)
After lunch, the group heads to Nami Island, the river island in Chuncheon famous as a Korean drama filming location. Its tree-lined lanes, riverside walking paths and seasonal scenery make it one of the most photogenic places in the country.
There is free time to explore on foot, visit small cafés and take photographs. Lunch is not included, and your guide can recommend local restaurants where a meal costs a modest amount; you can also choose any other restaurant. Entry to Nami Island is included in the tour.
Gangchon Rail Bike along the Bukhan River
In the default option, the day ends at Gangchon Rail Park, where you pedal a shared four-seater rail bike along an old railway line beside the Bukhan River. It is an easy, fun activity that suits families and friends, and the admission is included in this option. A private upgrade is available depending on availability, and is paid on the day.
The ride passes through countryside and tunnels and takes about an hour in total with boarding and waiting. If you would rather see a garden than ride, other options replace the rail bike with a visit to the Garden of Morning Calm.
Garden of Morning Calm as an alternative
The Garden of Morning Calm in Gapyeong is a carefully landscaped garden of flowers, trees and paths, popular for its summer hydrangeas and its winter light festival from mid-December. The option that includes it swaps the rail bike for the garden.
Both endings work well; choose the rail bike for something active, or the garden for a quieter, more scenic finish. Whichever you pick, you finish the day with time to relax before the drive back to Seoul. Tell us your preference when you book so that we can match the right option to your meeting point.
