Our Fethiye paragliding tour lifts you off the slopes of Babadağ mountain and floats you down over the Blue Lagoon of Ölüdeniz, one of the most famous flying spots in Europe. We pick you up from your hotel in the Fethiye and Ölüdeniz area at around 08:00 and drive you up the mountain road to the take-off point. A professional tandem pilot briefs you, straps you into the shared harness and does all the flying, so no experience is needed. The flight lasts around 30 minutes depending on the weather and ends with a gentle landing on the beach at Ölüdeniz. Equipment and full insurance are included. It suits adventurous travellers, couples and older children who meet the size limits.

Full Description
Babadağ Mountain
Babadağ rises to almost 2,000 metres straight behind Ölüdeniz, one of the few places in the world where you can launch high in the mountains and land on a beach. Its take-off points sit at around 1,700 and 1,900 metres, and steady afternoon thermals and sea breezes have made it a favourite of pilots from all over the world, as well as the venue for international air games.
The drive up from Fethiye takes about 45 minutes on a winding mountain road through pine forest, with the coast spreading out below. At the top, the air is cooler, so a light layer is welcome even in summer. The take-off site entry fee is paid on the mountain and is not included in the tour.
The Tandem Flight over the Blue Lagoon
After the briefing, your pilot attaches your harness to his, you take a few running steps together towards the edge, and the wing lifts you into the air almost without noticing. From then on you simply sit back while the pilot steers, catching thermals and circling slowly above the lagoon while the sea glitters far below.
The flight lasts around 30 minutes, depending on the wind, and shows the whole coast at once: the turquoise Blue Lagoon, the long curve of Belcekız beach, the cliffs towards Butterfly Valley and the green valleys inland. Is Ölüdeniz paragliding worth it? For most of our guests it is the most unforgettable moment of their holiday in Fethiye.
Landing on the Beach at Ölüdeniz
The pilot brings you down in wide, gentle turns over the sea before landing on the promenade beach at Ölüdeniz, usually right in front of the cafés. Just lift your legs as instructed and the pilot does the rest. Many guests say the landing is far softer than they expected, and families can watch from the beach.
After landing you can preview the photos and video the pilot took with a camera mounted on the wing; they can be bought separately unless you chose the option with photos and video. Then our driver takes you back to your hotel. The whole experience, including transfers, takes about two to three hours.
Views of Kayaköy and the Fethiye Coast
From the air you see far more than the lagoon. Inland lies the abandoned stone village of Kayaköy on its hillside, the farmland of the Ovacık and Hisarönü plateau and, on a clear day, the islands of Fethiye Bay and the town itself. The contrast between deep blue sea, white sand and pine-green mountains is extraordinary.
The best time for paragliding in Fethiye is from April to October, when the weather is most stable; morning flights are calmer and clearer, and the 08:00 pickup on the standard option gives you the morning light. Flights depend on the wind, and if the weather is not safe the flight is moved to the next possible date or refunded.
