Babadag mountain and the 4x4 ride up

Babadag is the mountain that rises behind Oludeniz to almost 2,000 metres, and it is known worldwide as one of the great paragliding sites. The day begins with check-in at our office in Oludeniz, where you meet your tandem pilot, and then a thirty to forty minute drive up the winding mountain road in a 4x4.

The ride is part of the experience. Dense pine forest gives way to wider and wider views of the Fethiye coastline as you climb, and the air cools noticeably towards the top. Take-off points and the safety briefing

At the summit area you are met by crisp mountain air and a view of the Mediterranean spread out below. We use several take-off sites at 1,700, 1,800 and 1,965 metres and choose the best one each day according to wind and weather, which gives the safest and smoothest flight. Standing at the launch and looking at the tiny coast below is a moment most guests remember.

Before taking off, your pilot gives an easy-to-follow briefing and fits your harness carefully. The tandem take-off needs no experience: you take a few brisk steps forward beside the pilot and the canopy lifts you into the air. Our pilots are licensed commercial tandem pilots, and equipment is included in the ticket.

Over the Blue Lagoon

The flight lasts from twenty to forty minutes depending on thermals and weather, long enough to relax and take it all in. Below, the Blue Lagoon appears as a bright turquoise bowl framed by the white crescent of its sandbar, a view that looks like a painting from the air. This is the moment when most nerves disappear.

Your pilot reads the thermals, keeps the flight smooth and points out landmarks along the coast. The Butterfly Valley coastline and optional acro spirals

Beyond the lagoon, the flight path also gives you aerial views of the Butterfly Valley coast, where steep cliffs enclose a secluded cove reachable on the ground only with difficulty. From the air you see the shape of the valley and the way green mountains drop into deep blue water, a perspective impossible from the beach or from a boat.

If you want extra adrenaline, ask your pilot for the optional acro spirals during the descent. These are a series of fast spinning turns that bring a strong sense of G-force, and they are tailored to your comfort level. You can equally keep the flight gentle and peaceful, so the experience matches the kind of ride you want.

Landing on Oludeniz Beach and your photos

The flight ends with a controlled descent over the promenade and a soft landing on the sand of Oludeniz Beach, where friends and family can easily watch your arrival. The landing needs little effort from you, and the pilot gives you instructions beforehand.

During the flight your pilot records photos and video using an extendable action camera, so you can relax and keep your hands free. The package includes the safety briefing, all equipment, and the video and photos. After landing you are taken back to your hotel, and the whole day, from check-in at the office to touchdown, takes about two to two and a half hours.
