Full Description
The ATV base in the Beji River valley near Ubud
The ride starts at a quad bike base in the countryside around Ubud, the cultural heart of Bali, beside the Beji River. The valley is wrapped in tropical forest, bamboo and rice fields, and the whole circuit has been built on private land, so you ride only on dedicated tracks without any traffic. This makes it one of the safer choices for first-timers who want a Bali quad bike tour close to Ubud.
On arrival your guide gives you a helmet and boots, explains the controls and checks that you feel comfortable on the machine. All the ATVs are automatic, with no gears to change, so beginners pick up the basics in minutes. You can leave a change of clothes at the base for after the ride, because on these tracks you will certainly get muddy and wet.
Snake Track and the jungle track
The first section is the Snake Track, a narrow trail that twists and turns between trees and over small hills, ideal for getting a feel for steering and braking. The guide rides in front, sets the pace and stops at scenic points so you can catch your breath and look around at the forest, the palms and the green slopes of the valley.
From there the circuit plunges into the jungle track, where tall trees close overhead, roots and mud make the ride more adventurous, and the light filters through the leaves. The pace always adapts to the group, so nervous riders can go slowly while experienced riders enjoy the bumps. Your guide also takes photos along the way, so you can keep your hands on the handlebars and still bring back memories of this jungle ATV ride in Ubud.
Cave tracks and the river speed track
The most memorable parts of the ride are the cave tracks, where the trail passes through rocky tunnels and openings in the hillside, and the Water Fun Speed Track along the river. On the water track you accelerate through shallow channels and puddles, sending spray in every direction; it is the moment when everyone ends up soaked and laughing.
These sections give the ride its character: a real off-road experience among caves, river and forest rather than a simple loop on a dirt field. The guide explains each section before you enter it and keeps the group together. Expect around an hour and a half of riding in total, enough time to build confidence on the easier tracks before the more exciting ones.
Single or tandem, with or without transfer
In the default option each rider has a single ATV and our driver takes you from your hotel in most areas of South and Central Bali to the base and back. The tandem option puts two riders on one quad, a good choice for couples or for parents riding with a child; it is booked for an even number of guests, adding a single ATV for any extra rider. If you already have transport, the options without transfer meet you at the base near Ubud.
After the ride you can take a shower with towel and soap, change into dry clothes and enjoy a bottle of mineral water. Insurance is included for all participants. Start times run from 08:00 to the afternoon, so the activity fits easily with other plans in Ubud, such as a visit to the rice terraces or the town centre.
