Dune bashing, sunset and the barbecue camp

At the camp there is usually camel riding, sandboarding, henna and Arabic coffee, followed by a barbecue dinner with grilled meats, salads and bread served buffet style. Return to the hotel is by the same vehicle, so nobody waits for a coach.

Global Village or Miracle Garden on the last morning

Both closing-day options are seasonal attractions that open in the cooler months and close for the summer, which is why the outline says in season. Global Village is a sprawling fair of country pavilions, street food, shows and fairground rides; it is best in the evening, so it works when your flight departs late. Miracle Garden is a daytime attraction of flower displays and photo-friendly installations, ideal for a morning before an afternoon flight. If your dates fall in summer, when both are closed, we substitute an indoor option such as an aquarium or mall attraction and tell you in advance. Departure from the hotel to the airport is by private car, timed around your flight.

Pack light, modest clothing for the city day, with shoulders and knees covered at the Jumeirah Mosque and in the old quarter, and comfortable closed shoes for the souks. For the theme park day bring swimwear, rash vests for children, waterproof sunscreen and a change of clothes; lockers are available inside the parks. The desert is warm by day and cool after sunset, so a light layer helps at the camp. Refillable water bottles, hats and sunglasses matter on every day. Malls and the Frame are strongly air-conditioned, so a cardigan is useful indoors.
