Praia da Rocha Baixinha
Praia da Rocha Baixinha is the eastern end of the long stretch of sand that begins at Praia da Falésia, between Albufeira and Vilamoura. Behind the beach rise layered cliffs in shades of red, orange and ochre, topped with umbrella pines, and in front the Atlantic is usually calm and clear in summer, ideal for water sports.
The jet ski stand sits on the sand a short walk from the beach access, so you can combine the ride with a morning or afternoon at the beach. It is easy to reach by car or taxi from both Albufeira and Vilamoura, and there are cafés and restaurants nearby for a meal after your ride.
The jet ski circuit
The ride takes place in a large closed circuit marked with buoys just off the beach, not as a free rental along the coast. This keeps everyone safe while still giving plenty of space to accelerate, turn and jump the waves. The instructor watches from the beach and the team is there to help at any time.
The jet skis are modern two-seaters with about 110 horsepower, stable and easy to steer for beginners yet fast enough to give a real rush of adrenaline. You can choose a sporty ride over the waves or a relaxed cruise with views back to the cliffs; one driver and one passenger share each machine.
Safety briefing and who can drive
Before you start, the instructor gives a short safety briefing on the controls, how to turn, how to stop and what to do if you fall in the water. Life jackets are provided and must be worn at all times. Briefings are given in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
The driver must be at least 16 years old and must bring a passport or ID card, which is mandatory. Younger passengers can ride behind an adult driver. Phones, cameras and action cameras are not allowed on the jet ski, so leave valuables with your group on the beach. Please arrive 10 minutes early, as late arrivals cannot always be accommodated.
