Overview
Fly through the rainforest canopy in the hills of southern Phuket on a zipline course built for first-timers and thrill-seekers alike. The default option is the fullest combination: about 40 minutes on a quad through jungle trails, a short drive up to the Big Buddha and a sea-view point, then 18 zipline stations with a spiral staircase, skateboard line, abseil, sky net walk and a 500-metre line. Shorter options cover 10 stations only, and the longest course has 32. It is a small shared group of up to eight, with transfers from Patong, Kata, Karon, Chalong, Rawai or Phuket Old Town, so it fits neatly into a beach holiday.

Full Description
The jungle zipline course in the hills of southern Phuket
The zipline park sits on a forested hillside in the south of the island, between the west-coast beaches and Chalong. After registration and a safety briefing at the base, the instructors fit your harness and helmet and take you up the mountain to the first platform. From there you clip on and glide from tree to tree, with the instructors checking every connection.
The 10-station course is a gentle introduction with six cable lines, the longest about 200 metres. The 18-station course adds a spiral staircase, a skateboard line, an abseil and a sky net walk, plus the 500-metre line that gives the best views over the canopy. The 32-station course strings all of these together with a trail walk. If you are wondering whether a zipline in Phuket is worth it, this is one of the most varied courses on the island.
Quad ride on jungle trails
The combination options start with a quad ride from the base into the jungle. Your guide leads the line along natural tracks of red earth, through rubber trees and secondary forest, where the ground can be muddy after rain. The guide explains the controls before you set off, and the pace stays steady so newcomers feel at ease.
In the 1-hour options the ride lasts about 40 minutes and ends at a changing point, where you swap the quad for a car for the climb to the Big Buddha. The shorter combination includes a 30-minute quad loop without the Big Buddha stop. Riders must be over 15; children aged 4 to 14 join as passengers.
Big Buddha on Nakkerd Hill
The Big Buddha is the best-known landmark of Phuket: a seated Buddha about 45 metres tall, faced in white marble, on the summit of Nakkerd Hill between Chalong and Kata. Work began in the early 2000s and the site is still an active place of worship, with monks, bells and quiet terraces around the statue.
The full combination options include a short drive up the hill for a stop at the statue. Because it is a religious site, shoulders and knees must be covered, so bring a light shirt and trousers or a sarong to change into. For many guests this stop is the answer to how to see the Big Buddha and do an adventure on the same afternoon.
Sea-view point and practical tips
Next to the Big Buddha visit, the 1-hour combinations stop at a sea-view point on the same ridge, where the forest drops away to Chalong, the southern beaches and the islands of the Andaman Sea. On a clear day it is one of the widest panoramas in Phuket, and a good moment for photos before the zipline.
Sessions start at 08:30, 12:00 and 14:30. The morning slot is coolest, while in high season the 14:30 slot can run one to two hours longer because of traffic. Wear closed shoes and comfortable clothes, and note the weight limit of 110 kg for the zipline. Our shared car brings you back to your hotel after a soft drink and a cold towel at the base.
