Overview
This private Turkish bath in Istanbul takes place on the spa floor of a hotel in Sirkeci, minutes from the Sirkeci tram stop and a ten-minute walk from Hagia Sophia. Unlike the historic public hammams, the bath is reserved for your group alone: you warm up in the sauna, spend an hour in the private marble hammam, receive the traditional 15-minute foam massage and then, with the default option, a full 60-minute massage in a private treatment room followed by a face mask, about 100 minutes in all. All therapists are women; only the waiting areas are shared. Shorter options with the foam massage only or a 30-minute massage are on the booking panel. Sessions start hourly from 12:00 to 21:00; there is no hotel pickup.

Full Description
A private spa in Sirkeci, Old City
The Turkish bath is on the spa floor of a hotel in Sirkeci, the district between Sultanahmet and the Golden Horn that grew up around the historic railway terminus. It is the most practical part of the Old City for a spa afternoon: the Sirkeci stop on the T1 tram and the Marmaray station are three minutes away, Hagia Sophia and the Basilica Cistern about ten minutes uphill, the Spice Bazaar and the Eminönü ferry piers five minutes downhill. Unlike the centuries-old public baths, this is a modern spa with new marble, clean changing rooms and private treatment rooms, designed for guests who want the Turkish bath ritual with complete privacy and no crowd.
You check in at the hotel reception, ask for the spa floor and are met by your therapist. The waiting lounge and corridors are shared with other spa guests, but the hammam itself and the massage rooms are used only by you or your group during your session. The spa is wheelchair accessible.
Sauna and the private Turkish bath
Every option begins in the sauna, which warms the muscles and opens the pores before the hammam, something the classic Ottoman baths achieve more slowly with their warm rooms. You then move into the private Turkish bath, a marble room with a heated central platform and wall basins, reserved for your party for about an hour. Lying on the warm marble is the heart of the Turkish bath experience in Istanbul: the heat builds gradually, the therapist pours bowls of warm water over you and, when the skin is ready, performs the kese scrub that lifts away dead skin and leaves the body remarkably smooth.
Because the bath is private, couples can take it together, parents can bring older children, and anyone shy about a communal hammam can relax completely. Bring swimwear or wear the disposable underwear provided, together with the peştemal wrap; nudity is not part of the ritual here.
Foam massage, 60-minute massage and face mask
After the scrub comes the foam massage, the signature moment of any hammam: the therapist fills a cloth bag with soap, swings it to create a dense cloud of foam and spreads it over the whole body, massaging gently for about fifteen minutes before rinsing you with warm water. With the default option you then move to a private treatment room for a full 60-minute massage, long enough for a proper full-body treatment rather than the quick rub offered in many tourist baths; tell the therapist whether you prefer light or firm pressure. A face mask is applied at the end while you rest.
Two shorter options are available: the bath, sauna and foam massage alone, about 50 minutes, or the version with a 30-minute massage and face mask, about 75 minutes. Nothing is included to eat or drink, so have water afterwards and plan a meal in Sirkeci, where the lokantas serve halal Turkish cooking.
Around the spa: Sirkeci, Gülhane and Eminönü
The best time for a private Turkish bath is the end of a sightseeing day, and Sirkeci makes that easy. A typical plan from our Istanbul team: Topkapi Palace or Hagia Sophia in the morning, a walk down through Gülhane Park, the old palace gardens that open onto Sirkeci, lunch in the lokantas around the station, then the spa at 15:00 or 16:00 with the massage leaving you relaxed for the evening. The Spice Bazaar at Eminönü, open daily and a five-minute walk away, is the place to buy Turkish delight and coffee on the way back, and the Eminönü piers offer evening ferries to Üsküdar and Kadıköy.
Sessions start on the hour from 12:00 to 21:00, so the spa also works as a late-evening wind-down after a Bosphorus cruise. Bring a change of clothes, which the spa recommends; towels, slippers and the peştemal are provided.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to what travellers ask us most, before they book.
Is this a shared or a private experience?
Private: the Turkish bath and the massage rooms are used only by you or your group during your session. Only the waiting lounge and corridors are shared with other spa guests.
How long does it take?
About 100 minutes for the default option with the 60-minute massage; about 75 minutes with the 30-minute massage and about 50 minutes for the bath, sauna and foam massage alone.
Is hotel pickup included?
No. The spa is in Sirkeci, three minutes from the Sirkeci tram stop and a short walk from Sultanahmet and Eminönü, so you make your own way there.
What is included?
The sauna, an hour of private Turkish bath with scrub, the 15-minute foam massage, and with the default option a 60-minute massage and a face mask; towels, slippers and a peştemal are provided.
Is the price per person or per group?
Per person, even though the bath is reserved for your group; the booking panel on this page shows the current price of each option.
Can couples use the bath together?
Yes. Because the hammam is private, couples, friends and families with older children can take the ritual together, each receiving their own treatments from female therapists.
Who performs the treatments?
All therapists are women. Massages take place in private rooms.
Is it suitable for children or for reduced mobility?
Older children can join their parents in the private bath; please ask us before booking for young children. The spa is wheelchair accessible, though the hammam floor is wet marble. Pregnant women should not book.
What should I bring and wear?
A change of clothes and, if you like, swimwear; otherwise disposable underwear and a peştemal wrap are provided. Leave valuables in your hotel safe.
What is the best time to book?
Mid-afternoon after sightseeing, or 20:00–21:00 as a wind-down before bed; sessions start hourly from 12:00 to 21:00.
Which option should I choose?
The 60-minute massage option is the full spa experience and our default; the 30-minute version suits a shorter break, and the foam-massage-only option is the classic hammam ritual without a separate massage.
How do I book and confirm?
Choose your date, hour and option on this page and send the request; our Istanbul team confirms on WhatsApp within minutes and sends the address and map pin.
