Turunc Bay viewpoint and the ancient site of Amos

On the eastern side of the peninsula, Orhaniye opens onto a calm bay famous for the Kizkumu sandbar, a narrow strip of shallow water stretching out from the shore that locals call Jesus Beach. The bay is sheltered enough for children to wade a long way out, and restaurants on the shore serve fresh fish with a view over the water.

Past Orhaniye the road continues to Selimiye and Bozburun, two small harbour villages known for traditional wooden boatbuilding, with a quieter feel than central Marmaris. If the day runs into the afternoon, you can end at a sunset viewpoint on the way back. These stops take you farther from Marmaris, so they suit a longer day.
