Overview

Step aboard a stylish 50-foot luxury yacht reserved only for your group and watch the Dubai skyline change colour from the water. The default three-hour private cruise, a favourite at sunset, leaves Dubai Harbour for the full coastal loop: the arched resort at the tip of Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, the calm Palm lagoon, the beach towers of JBR, Bluewaters Island with its giant observation wheel and the Dubai Marina canal. The yacht has an air-conditioned lounge, a restroom and shower, and a spacious sundeck with sunbeds. One and two-hour cruises, early-morning departures and a four-hour version are also available. It suits couples, families, friends and small celebrations looking for more space and comfort than a sports yacht.

Full Description

On board the 50ft luxury yacht at Dubai Harbour

Your private luxury yacht cruise begins at Dubai Harbour, the marina between the Palm and the Dubai Marina towers, where our crew meets you at the yacht club and walks with you to the berth. The 50-foot yacht is noticeably roomier than smaller sports boats, with a sleek modern design, a cool air-conditioned lounge for the hot months and a wide sundeck at the front.

Bottled water, ice, a fridge and a cooler box are ready for you, and the onboard restroom and swim-platform shower make longer cruises comfortable. Speed limits on this coast are 4 to 7 knots, so expect a smooth, relaxed cruise rather than a speedboat ride, ideal for conversation, photos and watching the sunset.

Dubai Marina canal and JBR

The Dubai Marina canal is a man-made waterway lined with some of the tallest residential towers in the world, glass and steel rising straight from the water. Cruising through it by yacht is one of the classic things to do in Dubai Marina, especially in the evening when the promenades fill with people and the towers light up.

Just outside the canal, Jumeirah Beach Residence, or JBR, stretches along a wide sandy beach with a lively walk behind it. On the one-hour cruise and the early-morning departures, this stretch is the heart of the route, and the crew brings the yacht close enough for clear photos of the beach and skyline together.

Bluewaters Island and its giant observation wheel

Opposite JBR sits Bluewaters Island, a small man-made island crowned by one of the tallest observation wheels in the world, about 250 metres high. From the deck of the yacht you see the wheel in full, framed by the beach towers on one side and the open sea on the other.

After sunset the wheel lights up in moving colours, which makes evening departures especially popular. Every option on this product passes Bluewaters Island, so even the shortest cruise gives you this view. If you plan a celebration, the crew can suggest the best moment to stop the music and gather everyone for a photo in front of it. Morning cruises see it in clear daylight against a blue sky.

Palm Jumeirah lagoon and the arched resort

On the two-hour cruise and longer, the yacht continues to Palm Jumeirah. You enter the sheltered lagoon inside the crescent, where the water is usually calm and you can see the fronds lined with villas, and then reach the tip of the crescent with its arched resort, the pink-toned towers joined by a giant arch.

It is the most photographed sight on the Palm, and from the water you see its full symmetry. Swimming from the yacht is not allowed under current Dubai maritime rules, but the captain can advise you on what is possible. Fishing gear is available on request on the four-hour cruise, and the slower pace of that option leaves time to anchor and enjoy the view.

Burj Al Arab at sunset

From the Palm the yacht follows the coast to Burj Al Arab, the 321-metre sail-shaped tower on its own island off Umm Suqeim. At sunset the white facade turns gold and then pink, and the tower glows against the darkening sky, the moment most guests remember from their private yacht cruise in Dubai.

The three-hour and four-hour cruises visit both the arched resort and Burj Al Arab; on the two-hour cruise you choose one of them. The crew helps with photos from the bow before the yacht turns back past JBR and Bluewaters to Dubai Harbour. Sunset times move from about half past five in winter to around seven in summer, so ask us which start time catches the best light on your date.
