Full Description
Daikoku Parking Area, Japan's most famous car meet
Daikoku Parking Area sits on an artificial island in Yokohama's port, inside a huge spiral interchange of the Shuto Expressway beneath the Yokohama Bay Bridge. On many evenings, owners of modified Japanese and imported cars drive in, park, open their bonnets and talk late into the night. Nothing is staged: the cars change from night to night, from classic sports coupes to wild one-off builds.
You get about an hour of free time to walk around, photograph the cars and chat with owners, while your guide explains the etiquette of the meet. Visiting on your own is difficult because the parking area can only be reached by car from the expressway. The authorities occasionally close it at short notice; if that happens, your guide takes you to another car meet spot or night viewpoint and the tour runs as scheduled.
The C1 Inner Loop, the Rainbow Bridge and the Bayshore Route
The drive is part of the experience. The Shuto Expressway C1 Inner Loop circles central Tokyo, weaving between office towers and over canals, and has a legendary place in Japanese car culture. From there the route crosses the Rainbow Bridge, the suspension bridge over Tokyo's harbour that links the city centre with Odaiba, its towers lit up at night.
You then run the Bayshore Route, known as the Wangan, an elevated expressway along the waterfront towards Yokohama, with the lights of factories, ports and the city stretching along the shore. Your guide narrates the history of the roads and the cars as you go. The tour is driven legally at all times; there is no street racing or drifting, just the feel of a tuned turbo car on Tokyo's most famous roads.
A big tuning and car-parts store in Shinonome
On the way back, the tour stops for about 30 minutes at one of Tokyo's biggest tuning and car-parts stores, in Shinonome in Koto ward near the waterfront. Its floors are full of wheels, exhausts, steering wheels, seats, tuning parts, model cars and car-care products, many of them hard to find outside Japan.
It is the perfect place to pick up a souvenir for a car-loving friend, or simply to browse the aftermarket culture that fills the car meets. Purchases are not included in the tour, and large parts may be difficult to carry on your flight, so check luggage rules if you plan to buy something big. Your guide can explain what is popular in the Japanese scene and what the parts do.
Tokyo Tower at night
The tour ends with a 15-minute photo stop at Tokyo Tower, the 333-metre red and white lattice tower completed in 1958 and still one of the most loved symbols of the city. At night it glows warm orange, and your guide knows where to stand for the best shot, ideally with the car in the foreground.
The observation deck ticket is not included, as the stop is for photos from outside. After Tokyo Tower, the car returns you to Tokyo Station, where the tour finishes at the Marunouchi North Exit taxi rank, about four hours after it began. If you are looking for Tokyo Tower night photos and a car meet in one evening, this route combines both.
Choosing your car: sports car, comfort wagon or private minivan
The default option puts you in a tuned Japanese four-wheel-drive turbo sports car with seating for three or four, shared with other enthusiasts, with a 17:00 start. A weekday sports car option starts later at 19:00. These cars are rally-bred machines, and feeling them pull on the expressway is the reason most fans book.
The comfort option uses a clean, comfortable air-conditioned wagon for four or more; it is not a sports car, but you still see the same meet, store and Tokyo Tower. For your own group only, the private luxury minivan option offers captain seats and a relaxed ride. All options include the English-speaking guide, fuel, tolls and parking.

About four hours, from 17:00 (or 19:00 for the weekday sports car option).

The car and driver-guide, commentary in English, fuel, tolls and parking, free time at Daikoku, the tuning store stop and the Tokyo Tower photo stop.
Is the price per person or per group?
Prices are per person. The booking panel on this page shows the current price of each option.
Will I drive the car?
No. You ride as a passenger; the local guide drives.
Can I visit Daikoku Parking Area on my own?
Not easily, as it is only reachable by car from the expressway. This tour takes you there and back.
Which cars will I see at Daikoku?
It changes every night because it is a real, spontaneous meet; you may see classic Japanese sports cars, imported supercars and one-off builds.

The authorities sometimes close it at short notice. Your guide then takes you to another car meet spot or night viewpoint and the tour continues.

How do I book and confirm?
Choose your car option and date on this page and send your booking with your hotel name if you want pickup. Our team confirms on WhatsApp within minutes.
