Kotor Old Town

Kotor sits at the end of the Bay of Kotor, a fjord-like inlet of the Adriatic, with steep limestone mountains rising straight above its walls. The old town, protected by city walls from the fourteenth century, was listed by UNESCO in 1979 and is one of the best-preserved medieval towns on the Mediterranean.

Inside the walls, narrow stone lanes open onto small squares, with the twelfth-century Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, Venetian palaces and many small churches to see. Your Kotor day trip from Tirana leaves about three and a half hours here to walk the lanes, climb to a viewpoint or sit at a cafe. Is Kotor worth visiting? Sveti Stefan

The Bay of Kotor and Budva
