Ostrog Monastery
Ostrog Monastery is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the Balkans, and it looks unlike any other monastery in Europe. Its whitewashed church and cells are set into a sheer rock face high above the Bjelopavlići plain, with the upper chapels built in a natural cave. It was founded in the seventeenth century by Saint Basil of Ostrog, and pilgrims of many faiths come here to pray.
