Full Description
The High Roller observation wheel
The High Roller opened in 2014 as the tallest observation wheel in the world, and it still stands out on the Las Vegas skyline at about 550 feet, or 168 metres. A High Roller ticket buys you one full rotation, which takes about 30 minutes, in one of 28 air-conditioned cabins. The movement is slow and smooth, so you have time to look around and take photos.
Each cabin can hold a large group, which means the ride feels roomy rather than crowded. Is the High Roller worth it? For first-time visitors who want a calm way to understand the layout of the Strip, yes, and it works for all ages.
Views over the Las Vegas Strip and valley
From the top you look along the Strip's resorts, across the flat Las Vegas Valley and out to the desert mountains that surround the city. On a clear day the horizon is far, and at night the lights of the hotels and signs cover the ground below you.
During the ride an audio tour tells the history of Las Vegas and points out landmarks as they come into view, timed to the rotation. Keep your phone ready near the highest point, and look for the changes in light as the sun sets.
Daytime and anytime tickets, and the best time to ride
The daytime ticket is valid only between 12 PM and 5 PM. The anytime ticket is valid daily from 12 PM until closing, so you can ride at sunset or after dark. The best time to ride the High Roller is usually late afternoon into dusk, when you can see the city in daylight and then in lights.
Each ticket is single use and remains valid for three days from your selected date, which gives you flexibility if plans change. Please note the venue is closed to the public on Tuesday 27 October 2026 between 4:00 PM and 7:30 PM, and on 19, 20 and 21 November 2026.
The LINQ Promenade and how to get to the High Roller
The wheel sits at the heart of The LINQ Promenade, an open-air walkway of shops, restaurants and entertainment just off Las Vegas Boulevard. If you are asking how to get to the High Roller, the easiest way is to walk from nearby resorts on the Strip, or take a taxi or ride to The LINQ and follow the signs to the wheel.
After your ride you are already in a good spot for dinner or a stroll. Bring your passport or an ID card. Souvenirs and photos are not included in the ticket.
