The airports serving Washington DC
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) lies just across the Potomac in Arlington, Virginia, about 8 km from central Washington and 5 minutes from Old Town Alexandria, and it is the closest of the three airports to the National Mall.
Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is the region's main long-haul gateway in Loudoun and Fairfax counties, Virginia, about 42 km west of central Washington, 19 km from Tysons and around 45 minutes to an hour from downtown outside rush hour.
Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is in Maryland about 55 km north-east of central Washington and 16 km south of Baltimore's Inner Harbor, with Annapolis about 35 km to the south-east.
