Full Description
Strahov Stadium and Strahov Monastery
Strahov is a hilltop district west of Prague Castle, and the Great Strahov Stadium is one of the largest stadiums ever built, with a huge open pitch that once hosted mass gymnastic festivals. Riding a Segway across its wide open spaces is a fun place to practise, and the slopes around give panoramic views of Prague.
Nearby stands the Strahov Monastery, a Premonstratensian abbey founded in the twelfth century, known for its baroque library. Your guide stops for photos and explains its role in Czech history. The guided Segway tour of Prague gives you these views without the effort of climbing the hill on foot.
Břevnov Monastery, Ladronka Park and the villa districts
On the 3-hour tour you ride to Břevnov Monastery, the oldest Benedictine monastery in Bohemia, founded in the tenth century, and through Ladronka Park, a green area with trails and meadows where you escape the crowds. Nearby are villa neighbourhoods sometimes called the Beverly Hills of Prague, with elegant houses from the early twentieth century.
Villa Müller, designed by the architect Adolf Loos in 1930, is a landmark of modern architecture. The Segway is ideal here, because it covers the distances between these spread-out sights in comfort. Ask your guide about the best routes if you want to return to walk them yourself.
The 2-hour and 1.5-hour routes: river, Dancing House and viewpoints
The shorter routes trade some of the outer districts for the sights closer to the centre. The 2-hour tour includes views of the Vltava, the Dancing House and the Anděl district, along with viewpoints over the city, while the 1.5-hour tour concentrates on Strahov and views of Prague Castle. Both are good choices if you have limited time.
If you are not sure how long a Segway tour in Prague should be, three hours gives the most variety, two hours is a balanced option and 1.5 hours is ideal for a first try. All routes start with a safety briefing and practice.
Safety, rules and what to expect
A Segway is easy to learn, and your guide explains the controls and lets you practise before you set off. Groups are limited to eight people, so the pace is comfortable and everyone can hear the commentary. A helmet is provided, and a raincoat in bad weather, and gloves or a jacket in winter.
The minimum age is 8 years, the maximum weight is 120 kg, and the tour is not suitable for pregnant women. Riders must be in a fit state to ride safely. Entry tickets to the sights are not included, because the tour passes them from outside.

The 3-hour tour covers the castle views, monasteries and villas. The 2-hour tour includes the river, the Dancing House and viewpoints, and the 1.5-hour tour focuses on castle views and Strahov.
