Surabaya Airport (SUB) in Sidoarjo is the main international airport of East Java, about 85 km north of Malang, 1.5 to 2 hours by car on the Surabaya–Malang toll road, and about 100 km from Batu.
Malang Railway Station is in the city centre, a short walk from Tugu Square, with trains from Surabaya, Yogyakarta and Jakarta; Batu is about 45 minutes to 1 hour away by car.
