Full Description
The London Eye
The London Eye is the giant observation wheel on the South Bank of the Thames, 135 metres high and opened in 2000. Its glass capsules turn slowly enough that the wheel never stops for boarding, and one rotation takes about 30 minutes. As you rise, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral and the Shard come into view, and on a clear day you can see around 40 kilometres.
The best time to visit the London Eye is soon after opening or in the early evening, when the light is softer and the city lights begin to sparkle. Your pass includes one standard ride; fast-track entry is not included, so allow time for queues at busy periods. The wheel stands right beside the other County Hall attractions, which makes it easy to plan.
Sea Life London Aquarium
In the lower floors of County Hall, the Sea Life London Aquarium leads you through themed ocean zones, from the North Atlantic to tropical coral reefs and the Pacific. Along the way you meet sharks, rays, turtles, clownfish, seahorses and glowing jellyfish, with information panels and feeding talks that make the visit both fun and educational.
The favourite spots are the glass tunnel where sharks swim overhead and the icy penguin zone with its colony of gentoo penguins. Children love the touch-pool experiences and the chance to see creatures up close. Allow about one and a half hours. Sea Life London tickets are often the first stop of the day, since it opens in the morning and is entirely indoors.
The London Dungeon
Also at County Hall, the London Dungeon brings a thousand years of the city's darker history to life with professional actors, special effects and theatrical sets. In a series of live shows you travel back to plague-ridden streets, the Great Fire, notorious crimes of the nineteenth century and trials at the old courts, with plenty of humour mixed with the scares.
The experience also includes two rides, a boat ride and a dramatic drop ride, and lasts about 90 minutes. It is dark, loud and full of surprises, so it is best for older children, teenagers and adults; younger children may find some scenes frightening. Groups move through the story together, and you may be picked from the audience to take part.
The wax museum on Marylebone Road
London's famous wax museum has stood on Marylebone Road since the late nineteenth century. Inside, hundreds of lifelike wax figures of film stars, music legends, sports champions, world leaders and royals are arranged in themed rooms where you can pose beside them for photos. The craftsmanship is astonishing: each figure takes months of sculpting, painting and hair work.
The visit also includes interactive zones, a short themed ride through London's history in a model taxi and an immersive film show. Your pass includes timed entry, so choose your slot when you book; allow about two hours. The museum is next to Baker Street station, about 15 minutes by Underground from Waterloo and the County Hall attractions.
Family 4D adventure and planning your days
The fifth attraction is a family walk-through adventure at County Hall, where you follow a story through themed rooms with live characters and end with a 4D flying bus ride, complete with moving seats and special effects. It is designed for younger children and makes a cheerful contrast with the spookier Dungeon next door. Plan about one hour.
With 90 days to use the pass, you can see the four County Hall attractions in one long day and visit the wax museum on another, or spread them across a longer stay. Arrive early, start with the indoor attractions and save the London Eye for late afternoon. The South Bank promenade, with cafes and street performers, is perfect for breaks between visits.
