Mostar Old Bridge and the Old Town

Mostar is the main city of Herzegovina, built on both sides of the Neretva river and named after the bridge keepers who once guarded its crossing. The Old Bridge, Stari Most, is a graceful stone arch built in the sixteenth century under the Ottomans, destroyed in 1993 and rebuilt in 2004, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Kravica Waterfalls are a wide, semicircular cascade on the Trebižat river, where water pours over a tufa ledge about twenty-five metres high into a green pool surrounded by trees. In warm weather many visitors swim in the pool below the falls, so bring swimwear and a towel. There are paths, picnic spots and small cafés nearby. The Kravica entry fee is paid in cash on site and is not included. The best time to visit Kravica is from late spring to early autumn, when the pool is warm enough for swimming.

The border crossing and the day's plan

The route from Croatia to Mostar crosses the Bosnia and Herzegovina border, so everyone must bring a valid passport or ID that is accepted for the crossing. A border crossing fee is paid in cash and is not included in the tour price. Waiting times at the border vary with traffic.

The trip lasts about twelve hours. Departure is at 07:00 from Split, 06:15 from Trogir and 06:05 from Omis, at the meeting point we confirm after booking. Depending on the schedule, the coach may pass or stop at the historic hilltop village of Počitelj.
