Full Description

Sailing the Mykonos coast by catamaran

A catamaran is one of the best ways to enjoy Mykonos from the sea, because its wide, stable deck gives you room to lounge, walk and take photos. Leaving the marina you sail along the north coast, and the whitewashed houses of Mykonos town shrink behind you into a postcard view.

The route is planned by the captain and can change with the wind, since the Aegean meltemi can be strong in summer. If the weather is rough, the crew may follow the more sheltered south coast instead, with stops at protected beaches. A Mykonos catamaran cruise is a good choice for those who enjoy the sea but prefer calm, comfortable sailing.

Delos Island seen from the boat

On the way you pass Delos Island, the sacred island of Apollo, and the boat makes a short stop offshore so you can photograph the ruins from the water. Please note that passengers do not go ashore on this cruise, and it is a view only, not a tour of the archaeological site.

If you want to walk among the ruins, we offer a separate guided tour to Delos from Mykonos. This cruise combines the historic backdrop with what many guests love most about the Cyclades: warm water, blue coves and time to relax.

Rhenia Island swimming and snorkelling stop

Rhenia Island is an uninhabited island beside Delos with clear turquoise coves that are ideal for swimming. In antiquity the graves of Delos were moved here, because nobody could be buried on the sacred island, which adds a bit of history to the day. Today it is a peaceful place to anchor, with fewer boats than the beaches of Mykonos.

You have around two hours for swimming and snorkelling, weather permitting, and snorkelling gear is provided. Stand-up paddleboards may be available too. Bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and a hat, because towels are not provided.

Lunch on board and practical tips for the cruise

While you swim, the crew prepares a traditional Greek lunch, which is served on board with seasonal fruits. It includes options such as seafood pasta, meat and vegetarian dishes; tell us if you have dietary needs. The default option does not include hotel transfer, so you meet at the marina in Mykonos.

For port authority regulations, we need the full name and ID or passport number of every passenger. The cruise is not suitable for people with mobility impairments because of boat access. The best time is a calm morning or early afternoon, and the itinerary may change for safety.
