Full Description
The luge tracks
A luge is a three-wheeled, gravity-powered cart that rolls down a specially built concrete track. There is no engine: a single handlebar lets you steer, pull back to brake and push forward to go, so each rider decides the pace. The Skyline Luge in Kuala Lumpur winds through banked corners, gentle dips and straight sections on a green hillside, giving a real sense of speed while staying safe and easy to learn.
Before your first run the staff give a short demonstration, and first-timers are encouraged to take it easy until they get the feel of the brakes. After that you can let go a little more on each ride. With five runs included, there is time to try different racing lines, film your friends and finish with your fastest descent. Riders of all levels enjoy it, and most people want to go again as soon as they reach the bottom.
The chairlift ride
Every luge run starts with the chairlift, called the Skyride, which carries you and your helmet back up to the start gate. It is a calm, scenic break between rides, with views over the tracks below and the trees and rooftops of Kuala Lumpur beyond. At the top you step off and collect your cart at the start gate.
Cameras along the chairlift and the track capture your rides automatically, and your ticket includes digital photos and videos of the chairlift and luge experiences. They make great souvenirs for families and friends, but remember that all digital media must be redeemed on the same day as your visit, so collect them before you leave.
Who can ride and safety
The luge is designed for a wide range of ages. Older children, teenagers and adults ride alone once they meet the park's minimum height, while younger children ride together with an accompanying adult in a tandem cart. Height and age rules are set by the attraction and checked at the entrance, so please follow the staff's instructions on the day.
Helmets are provided and must be worn on every ride. Wear closed shoes and comfortable clothes, tie back long hair and keep loose scarves or bags secure. Riders who are pregnant, or who have back, neck or heart conditions, should not ride. The track may pause during heavy rain or lightning for safety, and riding resumes when conditions allow.
Planning your visit
Choose your date and an hourly time slot between 10:00 and 20:00 when booking, and allow about one and a half to two hours for five rides, including queues and chairlift time. Weekday mornings are usually the quietest; weekends and school holidays are busiest. Late afternoon and evening slots are cooler and can be very pleasant as the sun goes down.
The attraction is on the edge of the city and is easiest to reach by taxi or ride-hailing app; if you prefer, we arrange private transfers from your hotel. Halal food is easy to find across Kuala Lumpur, and malls and attractions have prayer rooms (surau). Combine your visit with a city tour or a half day at Batu Caves for a full family day out.
