Mostar Old Bridge and the old town
Mostar takes its name from the bridge keepers who guarded the crossing over the Neretva. Stari Most, the Old Bridge, was completed in 1566 under Suleiman the Magnificent, destroyed in the war in 1993, and rebuilt with traditional methods in 2004. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage site and the reason most people take a Mostar day trip from Dubrovnik.
