Full Description

The sea taxi speedboat ride

A sea taxi is a fast speedboat that carries you from the Hurghada harbour straight to the islands. The ride to the islands takes about fifteen to twenty minutes, which leaves more of the day for beach time. The sea is open and the boat is quick, so expect a lively ride, some spray and a sense of speed, and sit near the back if you prefer a smoother feel.

The crew gives a safety briefing at the harbour, hands out life jackets and shows where the shaded seating is. The captain chooses the best route according to the wind. If you are asking whether the sea taxi to Orange Bay is worth it, the answer is yes if you want island time without a long cruise: the boat is the shortest way there and gives you flexible choices.

Orange Bay Island

Orange Bay is a beach on the Giftun Islands, with pale sand, shallow turquoise water and plenty of space to spread out. The sea is calm and clear near the shore, so swimming is easy, and there are shaded areas for resting. In the default option you spend about three hours here, and in the Orange Bay option you have the same time with no snorkelling.

Snorkelling at Orange Bay is not part of these options and snorkelling equipment is not provided, so the day here is about swimming, sunbathing and relaxing. The island gets busy by midday, so the early boat gives you the quietest time for photographs. Food and drinks are bought on the island, and you can add breakfast or lunch there on the day. The best months for Orange Bay are spring and autumn.

Magawish Island

Magawish is a small, quieter island south of Hurghada, popular for its calm, shallow water and a healthy reef close to the beach. Snorkelling on Magawish is part of the default option and the Magawish option, so this is the stop for seeing corals and reef fish. The snorkelling equipment itself is not provided in the default option, so bring your own mask and snorkel.

The island offers a peaceful alternative to the busier Orange Bay. You will find soft sand, clear water and shaded places to rest, and the three hours pass easily. Please do not touch the coral or stand on the reef. If your question is which island is better for snorkelling, Magawish is the answer, while Orange Bay is better for pure beach time.

Choosing your option and the private speedboat

Half-day options give about three hours on one island, either Magawish or Orange Bay. The full-day option gives six to eight hours on the island of your choice, and the combined option splits the day between the two islands. Pickup in Hurghada is included in all of them, and our team confirms the time the evening before.

The private sea taxi is a speedboat for your party only, with a captain, life jackets and water. You can spend about three hours on your chosen island, extend to a full day or visit both islands, and start between eight and one o'clock. The nature reserve fee is payable separately, and meals are not included. Tell us on WhatsApp which option fits your plans.
