The airports serving Athens
Athens International (ATH) is about 30 km east of the centre, a single terminal with the Attiki Odos motorway and Metro Line 3 into the city and Piraeus on the far side.
Athens International Airport (ATH) is at Spata about 30 km east of central Athens; Kalambaka and the Meteora rocks are about 360 km to the north-west, around four hours by car on the motorway via Lamia and Trikala.
Piraeus is the main port of Athens, about 12 km south-west of Syntagma and 45 km from the airport, with the island ferries leaving from numbered gates along a very long quay.
