The Magic Water Circuit

The Magic Water Circuit, or Circuito Magico del Agua, is a fountain park in the Parque de la Reserva in central Lima, opened in 2007. It has thirteen fountains and holds a Guinness record as the largest fountain complex in a public park. The fountains are lit in changing colours after dark and are the reason the park is so popular in the evening.

A Magic Water Circuit tour is a simple, lively way to spend an evening, and the guided visit adds context and a route through the fountains. Opening days and show times can change, so the times in the booking panel are the ones to trust. Bring a light jacket, as Lima evenings can be cool.

The fountains and walk-through tunnels

The park is organised as a circuit, with fountains of different shapes and sizes: water tunnels you can walk through, jets that dance to music and pools that reflect the lights. One fountain lets visitors walk inside a tunnel of arching water, and another has jets that rise to a great height.

Some fountains are made for walking through, so you may get a little splashed, and your guide tells you where to take photos and where to stay dry. Wear comfortable shoes with good grip because the paths can be wet. The walk is easy and flat, and it takes around an hour.

The light and water show

The highlight of the evening is the multimedia show at the Fantasy fountain, the largest of the park, where jets of water rise high into the air and become a screen for lasers and projected images, all synchronised with music. The show is short, and its times are listed in the booking panel.

Your guide chooses a good viewing point in advance, because the area in front of the fountain fills up. If you have children, tell them to stay close during the show. The show can be moved or shortened for technical reasons or bad weather, and the guide explains what is on that day.

Options, pickup and practical details

The default option includes pickup and drop-off at your accommodation in San Isidro, Miraflores or Barranco in an air-conditioned vehicle with a professional driver, and lasts about two and a half hours, with pickup around half past six. The second option starts at the main entrance at about five to seven and lasts about an hour and a half.

Both options include the entrance ticket, the official guide and the small group of up to twelve. Food, drinks and tips are not included. The exact pickup time and meeting spot are confirmed after booking, and the tour may be changed or cancelled if the park is closed.
