Full Description

Kayangan Lake with your own boat

Kayangan Lake, on Coron Island, is the stop everyone wants, and timing makes all the difference. With a private boat leaving at about 7:30, you can be among the first at the landing, climb the steep steps to the famous viewpoint over the turquoise cove while the light is soft, then swim in the lake before the shared boats arrive.

The lake is mostly fresh water, cool and remarkably clear, framed by limestone walls and lined with a floating boardwalk. The site is managed by the indigenous Tagbanua community, and life vests are required for swimming. On a private Coron tour you decide whether to spend forty minutes or a relaxed hour and a half here.

Twin Lagoon and Barracuda Lake

At Twin Lagoon your boat anchors in the first basin and you swim, or climb a small ladder at high tide, through a gap in the rock into the second, a secret pool walled by cliffs. Springs mix with seawater here, so you feel warm and cool layers as you float. With no group schedule, you can stay until the lagoon empties out.

Barracuda Lake lies a short climb away over sharp limestone. Its clear water hides a warm layer deeper down and underwater canyons that fascinate freedivers. Snorkellers drift above grey rock walls in near silence. Your guide watches over your group alone, which makes it easier for children and nervous swimmers to enjoy both stops calmly.

Skeleton Wreck and the coral garden

The Skeleton Wreck is a small vessel resting in shallow, clear water just off Coron Island. Its frame is now crusted with coral and visited by reef fish, and you can see it easily from the surface. Nearby, the coral garden offers a broad shelf of hard and soft corals, clownfish and darting schools of tropical fish.

Snorkel gear is not part of this option, so bring your own or rent it in town the day before; your guide can advise where. On a private boat you can return to the best snorkelling spot or move on whenever you are ready. Please float rather than stand on coral and use reef-safe sunscreen.

Beach lunch and CYC Beach

Lunch is served on a beach for your group, usually grilled fish, chicken, vegetables, rice and fruit. Halal-certified food is limited in Coron, so let us know your needs when booking and we pass them to the crew; seafood and vegetarian dishes are always easy. Lunch is unhurried, with shade and time to rest.

The day ends at CYC Beach, a small island close to town with white sand, mangroves and shallow, glass-clear water. It is a calm, safe swim for every age and a good place for final photos before the short ride back to the pier. Most private days last about eight hours from departure to return. On the ride back you see Mount Tapyas rising above the rooftops of the town.

Other private routes around Coron

If you have more than one day in Coron, the other private options on this page open different sides of the area. The customisable private tour lets you build your own day from a list of spots, with entry fees paid on the day. The island escapade heads about an hour out to the white beaches and sandbars of Malcapuya, Ditaytayan, Bulog Dos and Banana Island.

For snorkellers, the reefs and wrecks route visits Pass Island, the Lusong gunboat wreck, the Lusong coral garden and the East Tangat wreck, a ship sunk during the Second World War. Each private option includes your own boat and guide, and our team can help you choose the right one for your group.

Coron town and how to get there

Coron town sits on Busuanga Island in northern Palawan and is the departure point for every private Coron boat tour. The town is small and easy to reach on foot or by tricycle, and Mount Tapyas above it offers a well-known sunset view over the bay and its islands.

How to get to Coron: fly to Busuanga airport (USU), about an hour from Manila, then drive about thirty to forty minutes to town. A fast ferry links El Nido and Coron in about four hours when seas allow. The best time to visit Coron is December to May; from June to November weather can cancel boat trips, so keep a flexible day.
