Full Description

Aqualand Maspalomas water park

Aqualand Maspalomas lies on the road that climbs from the coast towards the Palmitos valley, a short drive from the beaches of Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés. It is the biggest water park on Gran Canaria, laid out on terraces among palms, flowers and lawns, with slides, pools and play areas connected by paths. Thanks to the warm climate of the south, it opens every day of the year.

Is Aqualand Maspalomas worth visiting? For families with children it is one of the most popular things to do in Maspalomas, and a welcome change from the beach. Arrive at opening time to enjoy the first rides without queues and to find a good spot in the gardens. Most visitors stay for the whole day, as there is plenty to fill five or six hours.

Slides for thrill seekers and families

The star of the park is the Anaconda, a long, winding slide ridden on large rubber rings, where a family or group of friends twists through tunnels and curves before splashing into the pool. For racing fans, the multi-lane slides let you compete side by side to see who reaches the bottom first, and steeper slides deliver a quick burst of speed for older children and adults.

Height and age limits apply on some slides, and lifeguards supervise every ride. On busy summer days the most popular slides can have queues in the early afternoon, so plan the big rides for the morning. Fast passes can be bought in the park if you want to skip some lines; they are not included in this ticket.

Children's paradise, the water labyrinth and the gardens

Younger children have their own world in the children's paradise, a shallow splash zone with small slides, fountains and water cannons, where parents can relax nearby. The water labyrinth adds a playful challenge, with passages, jets and surprises that delight kids and adults alike. Lifeguards watch over these areas, and benches and shaded spots nearby make it easy for parents to keep an eye on the little ones.

Between rides, the tropical gardens of the park offer shade, lawns and quiet corners. The park also has a sea lion area, where an optional interactive experience can be booked on site, subject to availability and at an extra cost. Sun loungers, parasols and lockers are also available to rent, and restaurants and kiosks sell food and drinks throughout the day.

Maspalomas and how to get to the park

The park is a few minutes from the famous Maspalomas dunes, a protected nature reserve of golden sand that meets the sea beside a lagoon and a tall 19th-century lighthouse. The resort areas of Playa del Inglés, Maspalomas and Meloneras line the coast below, with long beaches and promenades.

If you are wondering how to get to Aqualand Maspalomas, local buses run from the main resorts of the south, the drive takes about 10 minutes from Maspalomas and there is a paid car park at the entrance. Taxis are also quick and easy. Aqualand Maspalomas opening hours are 10:00 to 17:00 from September to June and 10:00 to 18:00 in July and August, with last entry 90 minutes before closing.
