The airports serving York
Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) is about 13 km north-west of Leeds - 30 minutes - and about an hour and a quarter from Manchester.
Manchester Airport (MAN) is about 15 km south of the city centre with three terminals, close to the M56 and M6 for Liverpool, the Peak District and the Lakes.
Newcastle Airport (NTL) is about 25 km north of Newcastle city and about 35 km west of Nelson Bay, around 35 minutes by car; Birubi Point is about 25 km and Fingal Bay about 40 km away.
Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is about 13 km west of Princes Street beside the M8 and M9, a single terminal that is the right starting point for the Highlands, St Andrews and Glasgow as well as the city.
