The new airport is about 50 km from town and there is no train or metro; airport minibuses, taxis and ride-hailing cars run to the centre, but they add up on the long drive, so a private car is simpler for a family, a late arrival, a temple-side resort or a long onward drive to Phnom Penh or Battambang.
