Full Description
Adeje's canyons and take-off hills
The flight starts from the hills above Adeje, where steep ravines fall towards the sea and sunny, steady winds make the area popular for paragliding. From the take-off point you look down over banana plantations, whitewashed villages and the deep canyon walls that give southern Tenerife its dramatic shape. Your champion pilot checks the wind, fits your harness and helmet and explains every step, so you know exactly what to do on take-off.
If you are wondering what tandem paragliding in Tenerife feels like, the answer is surprisingly calm: once in the air, the wing glides smoothly and quietly, and the pilot does the flying while you enjoy the view. Beginners are welcome and no experience is needed.
Flying above the south coast towards Costa Adeje
Once airborne you glide over the coast of Costa Adeje, with the blue Atlantic on one side and the arid volcanic slopes on the other. On clear days you can see the neighbouring island of La Gomera on the horizon and the resorts of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos stretching along the shore. The flight lasts long enough to relax and take photographs, and your pilot may add gentle turns if you want more thrill.
Five GoPro photos are included so you can share the moment. Ask about optional photo and video packages when you meet your pilot, as they are not part of the standard ticket.
Landing on the beach and the flying conditions
The flight ends with a soft landing on the beach, where the pilot guides you down step by step. Paragliding is weather-dependent: strong wind, low cloud or turbulence can delay or cancel a flight, and your pilot makes the final safety decision. If conditions are not right, you are offered another time or day.
The best time for paragliding in Tenerife is usually in the morning or late afternoon, when the air is smooth. Wear comfortable clothes, closed shoes and sunglasses, and follow your pilot's instructions during take-off and landing.
Hotel pickup, timing and what to expect
Because hotel pickup and drop-off are included, you do not need to find the take-off site yourself. The vehicle collects you at your hotel in Costa Adeje, Adeje, Las Americas or Los Cristianos, and the complete experience, including transfers, takes about two hours. Pickup times are confirmed after booking.
The group is limited to four participants, so the experience feels personal and unhurried. Booking early helps in high season, and you can check the available times on the booking panel. Keep your phone with you on the day in case the pilot needs to adjust the time because of the wind.
