Full Description
Dubai Marina, the Palm Jumeirah and Jumeirah Beach
The tour begins its Dubai sightseeing along the coast, where the skyscrapers of Dubai Marina rise above a man-made canal lined with yachts and promenades. Nearby, the Palm Jumeirah stretches into the Gulf as the world-famous palm-shaped island, and a photo stop at The Pointe gives a view of its fronds and the Atlantis resort at the end of the crescent.
Along Jumeirah Beach Road you pass the wide public beaches and low villas of old Jumeirah, then reach the point where the Burj Al Arab rises from its own island. This sail-shaped hotel is Dubai's best-known symbol, and the photo stop gives you the classic view with the water in front. If you have ever searched how to see Burj Al Arab up close, this stop is the easiest answer.
The Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall
The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world at over 800 metres, and your guide stops at the base for a photo opportunity. The tower's spiralling glass shape is best seen from the fountain area beside Dubai Mall. The tour includes the exterior view; tickets to the observation deck are not part of the price and can be arranged separately.
Dubai Mall next door is one of the largest shopping centres on Earth, with an aquarium, an ice rink and hundreds of shops and cafes. You have around one hour here for lunch, browsing or exploring. Lunch is not included, so use the time to eat at one of the many food courts. If the evening Dubai Fountain show fits your schedule, ask your guide about timing.
Museum of the Future, Dubai Frame and old Dubai
On the drive across the city you pass the Museum of the Future, an elliptical steel building covered in Arabic calligraphy, and the Dubai Frame, a giant picture-frame-shaped structure that links old and new Dubai in one view. Both are photographed from the road, so you get a sense of the city's modern architecture without extra walking.
The tour then turns to the older side of the city and the Al Fahidi historic district, with its wind-tower houses and narrow lanes near the Creek. This is where Dubai began as a fishing and pearling town, and your guide explains how trade shaped the city before oil. It is a striking contrast to the glass towers seen earlier in the day.
Dubai Creek abra ride and the Gold and Spice Souks
An abra is a small wooden ferry that has carried passengers across Dubai Creek for generations. Your ride crosses between the Bur Dubai and Deira sides, offering a view of the old trading dhows and waterfront buildings. It is short but memorable, and it remains one of the most authentic experiences in the city.
On the Deira side you walk into the Gold Souk, where shops glitter with bracelets, necklaces and rings, and then the Spice Souk, where saffron, frankincense, dried limes and herbs are stacked in fragrant sacks. Bargaining is expected, so take your time to compare and ask questions. The souks are covered in parts, but wear comfortable shoes and carry a small bag.
