Full Description
The medieval castle in Aldea Blanca
The castle stands near the village of Aldea Blanca, in the south of Tenerife, a short drive inland from the resorts of Los Cristianos, Golf del Sur and El Médano. Built in the style of a 15th-century fortress, with stone towers, battlements and a great hall, it was created especially for medieval dinner shows and has become one of the best-known evening attractions on the island.
As you arrive, you enter the castle courtyard, where you can look around, buy snacks or souvenirs and take photos before the doors of the hall open. Inside, long wooden tables face a sand arena surrounded by banners and coats of arms, so every seat has a clear view of the horses and knights.
The jousting tournament and the show
Each table is assigned a knight and his colours, and the audience is encouraged to cheer, clap and wave flags for their champion. The tournament begins with a parade, then the knights show their skill on horseback, spearing rings at full gallop and charging at each other with lances in the classic joust. Sword fights, music and dramatic lighting turn the evening into a story of courage and rivalry.
The beautiful Spanish horses and trained birds of prey are among the stars of the show, and children love watching them up close. The story ends in a final battle of good against evil, and the winning knight is crowned. This knights show in Tenerife lasts about two hours and is designed to be enjoyed by all ages, with plenty of action and humour.
The three-course medieval banquet
Dinner is served during the show in the style of a medieval feast. The banquet starts with a cream of vegetable soup, followed by a roast chicken leg in its own juice with baked potatoes and dressed tomato, and ends with an ice cream cake with chocolate syrup. Water and soft drinks are served with dinner.
Eating while the knights compete in front of you is part of the fun, and the menu is simple and family-friendly. Please let us know about allergies or dietary needs when you book so we can pass them on to the castle. Snacks and drinks before the show, souvenirs and photos are available to buy separately.
