Full Description

Dubai Safari Park in Al Warqa'a

Dubai Safari Park opened in 2017 on a large site in Al Warqa'a, on the eastern side of Dubai. It is designed as a modern wildlife park, with spacious habitats rather than small cages, and it is one of the emirate's favourite days out for families. The park is open seasonally, so check the current opening dates and hours when you book.

If you are looking for Dubai Safari Park tickets or wondering how to get to Dubai Safari Park, it is roughly a twenty to thirty minute drive from central Dubai depending on traffic, and taxis and ride-hailing are the simplest way to reach it. Hotel pickup is not included.

The six zones: from Africa to the Arabian Desert

The park is divided into six zones. African Village and Asian Village hold animals from those continents, Explorer Village has a mix of species and an adventure feel, the Arabian Desert zone focuses on animals from the Arabian Peninsula, Kids Farm lets young children see farm animals up close, and Alwadi is a valley-style area with more wildlife.

Because the site is large, walking all of it in summer heat is tiring. That is why the default option that includes the shuttle train is a sensible choice: it lets you hop between zones, save energy for the animal viewing and take breaks in the shade.

The Explorer Safari tour and the shuttle train

The default option adds a 35-minute Explorer Safari tour, in which you travel by vehicle through the park's wildlife areas and see animals that are harder to view on foot. Many families find this the highlight of the day, especially with children.

The pass with the shuttle train gives unlimited rides around the park during your visit. If you choose the other option, a plain Safari Park pass without the train, you can still visit all six zones on foot, but the train and the Explorer Safari tour are not included.

Planning your visit: the best time and what to bring

The best time to visit Dubai Safari Park is in the cooler months, early in the day, when the animals are more active and the weather is pleasant. Is Dubai Safari Park worth visiting? For families and animal lovers, yes, especially with the train and tour. Allow four to six hours and wear a hat and sun cream.

Food and drinks are sold in the park but are not part of the ticket, and hotel pickup is not included. Adult, child and infant age bands are shown in the booking panel. Check the season and opening hours before you go, as the park may close for the hottest months.
