Overview
This resort day pass takes you from your Hulhumalé hotel to Hudhuranfushi, a lush resort island on the eastern edge of North Malé Atoll, for about eight hours of beach, lagoon and infinity pool. We pick you up at your hotel reception, a shared speedboat carries you across the atoll, and a host welcomes you on arrival with a welcome drink. Full Description
Hudhuranfushi island, North Malé Atoll
Hudhuranfushi lies on the eastern rim of North Malé Atoll in Kaafu, about half an hour by speedboat from Hulhumalé. Its name comes from the Dhivehi words for white and gold, which fits an island ringed by pale sand and framed by a turquoise lagoon. Unlike the tiny islets around Malé, it is a long, green island with mature coconut palms and shaded paths, so there is room to wander between beach, pool and restaurant without feeling crowded.
A resort day pass in the Maldives is the simplest way to see this side of the country. Guests in Malé or Hulhumalé guesthouses often ask whether a resort day visit is worth it; for most it is the highlight of the trip, because it brings the overwater jetties, the open-sea views and the slow rhythm of a private island into a single day. The eastern tip of Hudhuranfushi is also known among surfers for its reef break, a lively horizon in the surf months from May to October.
The beach, the lagoon and the infinity pool
The beach wraps around the island, with the calmest water on the lagoon side where the sand slopes gently into shallow, clear water. It is ideal for an easy swim, for children who want to paddle and for anyone who simply wants to float and look back at the palms. Loungers and shade are part of the pool and beach facilities covered by the pass, so you can settle in one spot or move with the sun.
The infinity pool is the centrepiece for many day visitors: its edge seems to run straight into the lagoon, and the loungers around it are the best place for the classic Maldives photo. Between the pool and the beach you can walk the jetty for views over the reef, watch small reef fish in the shallows and follow the shoreline to the quieter southern end. Motorised water sports, the spa and resort excursions are not part of the day pass and can be paid for on the island if you wish.
Welcome drink, snacks and the buffet lunch
Food is one of the strongest reasons to choose this day visit. A welcome drink is served when you arrive, morning snacks are laid out between 10:00 and 11:00, and the buffet lunch at the allocated restaurant brings together international dishes, salads, grilled fish and Maldivian favourites such as tuna curries and coconut-based sides. Soft drinks, water and a selection of fresh and canned juices are included through the day, so you do not need to carry anything from Hulhumalé.
Evening snacks from 16:00 to 17:00 close the day before the boat back. Lunch is a relaxed buffet, so you can eat early and return to the pool, or linger with a sea view. If anyone in your party has a dietary need, tell our team on WhatsApp when you book and we will pass it to the resort host so the kitchen can prepare for it. Everything is counted per guest; children use the same pass as adults on this product.
Getting to Hudhuranfushi from Hulhumalé
How to get to Hudhuranfushi is the first question most travellers ask, and the answer is simple: the pass includes pickup from your Hulhumalé hotel and a return shared speedboat transfer. You wait at your hotel reception at the confirmed time, usually for an 08:00 start, and our driver brings you to the departure jetty. The crossing takes roughly half an hour across the sheltered water of North Malé Atoll, with Hulhumalé and the Sinamalé Bridge shrinking behind you and the resort islands of the eastern atoll rising ahead.
The return boat leaves in the late afternoon after the evening snacks, so you are back in Hulhumalé in time for dinner. The transfer is shared with other day visitors, which keeps it affordable and makes this one of the best things to do in the Maldives on a budget from the capital area. Bring your passport or an ID, as resorts check names on arrival, and keep your phone charged for photos on the jetty.

Can we change the timing or stay longer?
The boat times are fixed by the resort schedule, with pickup for an 08:00 departure and a return after the evening snacks. If you would like a different day or have a special request, message us on WhatsApp and we will check what the resort can arrange.
How many people can join?
The day pass is limited to ten guests per departure. For a larger family or group, contact us before booking so we can check space on your date or spread the party over two days.
Is the price per person or per group?
The pass is counted per person, and children use the same pass as adults. The booking panel on this page shows the current price of the option and updates when you choose the date and number of guests.
Is hotel pickup included?
