Phu Quoc
Plan Phu Quoc with Haqqi Tours: day tours, private airport transfers, attraction tickets and packages, run by our own team and confirmed on WhatsApp in Arabic or English.
Late in the afternoon on Phu Quoc's west coast, the heat softens and the sea turns from turquoise to gold. Fishing boats sit at anchor beyond the sand, the smell of grilled seafood drifts from the beach, and families gather at the water's edge to watch the sun drop straight into the Gulf of Thailand. In Duong Dong, the little shrine on the rocks at the river mouth glows in the last light as the night market begins to wake.

Phu Quoc is Vietnam's largest island, lying off the country's south-west coast close to the Cambodian border. Its long beaches, clear southern waters and green national park sit beside fishing villages, pepper farms and family-run fish-sauce houses, while new attractions in the north and south, from theme parks to one of the world's longest sea-crossing cable cars, make it one of Asia's fastest-growing beach destinations.
Why include Phu Quoc in your itinerary?
- Beaches for every mood. Long Beach for sunsets close to town, Sao Beach for soft white sand and calm turquoise water, and quiet bays at Ong Lang and Ganh Dau, all within an easy drive.
- Islands, reefs and boat days. The An Thoi archipelago in the south is a chain of small islands with coral, clear water and sandy coves, ideal for snorkelling, island-hopping and relaxed days at sea.
- Big attractions and island life together. Ride the cable car to Hon Thom, spend a day at VinWonders and the safari park, then visit pepper farms, fishing villages and the night market for a taste of everyday island life.
Signature experiences in Phu Quoc
Island-Hopping in the An Thoi Archipelago
Off the southern tip of Phu Quoc, the An Thoi islands offer some of Vietnam's best snorkelling, with coral gardens, tropical fish and quiet beaches on islands such as May Rut and Gam Ghi. Boat trips usually visit three or four islands with time to swim and lunch on board. We book shared and private boat trips, with transfers from your hotel, in the dry season when the sea is clear.
Hon Thom Cable Car and Sun World
From An Thoi, a cable car nearly eight kilometres long glides high above the sea, fishing boats and small islands to Hon Thom island, with breathtaking views on the way. On the island, a water park, beaches and hilltop gardens fill the rest of the day. It is best enjoyed in the morning before the midday heat, and we arrange tickets and private transfers.
VinWonders and the Safari Park
In the north of the island, VinWonders Phu Quoc is a large theme park with rides, an aquarium, water attractions and evening shows, while the neighbouring safari park lets you see giraffes, zebras, rhinos and many other animals from open buses. Together they make a full day for families. Grand World nearby, with its canals and colourful streets, is lively in the evening.
Sunset Town and the Kiss Bridge
Near An Thoi in the south, Sunset Town is a new seaside quarter of pastel Mediterranean-style buildings, a clock tower and a seafront promenade. Its highlight is the Kiss Bridge, two arms of a footbridge that almost touch above the sea, beautiful at sunset. Light shows and fireworks are held on some evenings, and the cable car station to Hon Thom is close by.
Pepper Farms, Fish Sauce and Fishing Villages
Phu Quoc is famous for its black pepper and its fish sauce, aged for months in wooden barrels. Visit a pepper farm to see the vines and taste fresh peppercorns, then a traditional fish-sauce house and the fishing village of Ham Ninh on the east coast, where crabs and dried seafood are sold on a long wooden pier. Our private island tours by vehicle combine these with the beaches.
Neighbourhoods and quarters to know in Phu Quoc
Duong Dong
Duong Dong is the island's main town, with the night market, the shrine on the rocks at the river mouth, shops, cafés and seafood restaurants. It is the most practical base for first-time visitors who want variety and evening life, about fifteen minutes from the airport. Hotels range from simple guesthouses to large resorts on the beach just south of town.
Long Beach
Long Beach stretches for many kilometres south of Duong Dong along the west coast, lined with resorts, hotels and beach restaurants facing the sunset. It suits families and couples who want the beach and easy access to town and the airport. The sand is golden, the sea calm in the dry season, and evenings are relaxed.
Ong Lang and the North-West
North of Duong Dong, Ong Lang is a quieter area of small bays, coconut palms and boutique resorts set among gardens. Further north, the coast leads to Ganh Dau, the safari park, VinWonders and Grand World. Staying here suits travellers seeking calm and nature, with private transfers or a car useful for reaching town.
An Thoi and the South
The southern tip of the island holds An Thoi port, Sunset Town, the Hon Thom cable car and the departure point for island-hopping trips. Large resorts line Khem and Sao beaches on the east side. It suits those who want the islands and attractions of the south, about thirty minutes from the airport and forty from Duong Dong.
How long to stay in Phu Quoc and how to pair it
Recommended stay
We recommend four nights on Phu Quoc. Spend one day on an island-hopping boat trip in the An Thoi archipelago, one on the Hon Thom cable car and at Sunset Town, one at VinWonders and the safari park, and one relaxing at Sao Beach and visiting a pepper farm. With five or six nights, simply add more beach time.
How to pair it
Phu Quoc pairs naturally with Ho Chi Minh City, about an hour away by air, and with the Mekong Delta. A seven-day trip combines Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc. In ten days, add Hoi An or Da Nang. A fourteen-day journey can link Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City and a beach finale on Phu Quoc.
Best time to visit Phu Quoc and the rhythm of the day
Best months
The best time to visit Phu Quoc is the dry season from November to April, with sunny days, calm seas and clear water for snorkelling; December to March is ideal. From May to October the south-west monsoon brings heavy showers and rougher seas, especially on the west coast, and some boat trips change route or stop on stormy days.
The daily rhythm
Island days begin early, with boat trips and the cable car best before the midday heat. Lunch is often seafood by the beach, followed by a swim, a rest or a spa. Late afternoon belongs to the sunset on the west coast or at Sunset Town, and evenings are for the night market in Duong Dong or the lights of Grand World.
On-the-ground logistics in Phu Quoc
Arrival
Phu Quoc International Airport, in the centre of the island, receives flights from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and several international cities, and is about fifteen to twenty minutes from Duong Dong. Fast ferries also arrive from Rach Gia and Ha Tien on the mainland. We issue flight and ferry tickets, and our private transfers meet you at the airport or port and take you to your hotel.
Getting around
Phu Quoc is a large island, and its sights are spread from Ganh Dau in the north to An Thoi in the south. Taxis and ride-hailing apps work well, and some resorts run shuttles. A private car with driver arranged by our team is the most comfortable way to combine the beaches, pepper farms, Sunset Town and the cable car in one day.
Local etiquette tip
Phu Quoc is relaxed and used to visitors. Swimwear is fine at the beach and pool, but cover shoulders and knees in pagodas, temples and villages. Remove shoes where others do, and ask before photographing people. Bargain politely at the night market. Tipping is appreciated for good service but not obligatory.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to what travellers ask most about Phu Quoc.
Where should first-time visitors stay in Phu Quoc?
First-time visitors usually stay in Duong Dong or along Long Beach, close to the airport, the night market and many restaurants. For a quieter stay, Ong Lang in the north-west is lovely, while the south suits those who want Sunset Town and the islands nearby. Our team can suggest a hotel in any area and arrange your private airport transfer.
Can Phu Quoc be done as a day trip from Ho Chi Minh City, or does it need an overnight stay?
A day trip from Ho Chi Minh City is not practical: even with a one-hour flight, airport time leaves too little for the island. Phu Quoc is a beach and island destination that needs at least three or four nights to enjoy boat trips, the cable car and the beaches. We arrange flights, private transfers and tours to fit your plans.
What is the dress code and etiquette in Phu Quoc?
Phu Quoc is relaxed, and swimwear is normal at the beach and pool. Away from the sand, wear light clothes, and cover shoulders and knees in pagodas, temples and villages. Remove shoes where others do, ask before taking photos of people and bargain politely at markets. Our guides explain local customs on the way.
Is Phu Quoc tourist friendly, and is halal food available?
Yes. Phu Quoc welcomes visitors from all over the world, and hotels are used to many nationalities. Halal-certified food is limited, but a few Indian and halal-labelled restaurants operate in Duong Dong, and fresh seafood, fish and vegetable dishes are easy to find. The nearest well-established mosques are in Ho Chi Minh City. We can advise on restaurants.
Is it safe to travel to Phu Quoc now?
Phu Quoc is generally considered safe, with a friendly local community. Take normal care with belongings, respect sea conditions and red flags in the rainy season, and use life jackets on boat trips. Before departure, check your own government's official travel advice and the current visa rules, and keep our WhatsApp line handy throughout your stay.
What are the must-do things in Phu Quoc?
The must-do things in Phu Quoc include island-hopping and snorkelling in the An Thoi archipelago, the Hon Thom cable car, sunset at the Kiss Bridge, Sao Beach, VinWonders and the safari park, a pepper farm and the night market in Duong Dong. Our boat trips and private tours combine these at a relaxed island pace.
How many days do you need in Phu Quoc?
Four days is ideal for Phu Quoc: one for an island-hopping trip, one for the cable car and Sunset Town, one for VinWonders and the safari park, and one for the beaches and a pepper farm. Three days cover the highlights at a quicker rhythm, while a week allows a true beach holiday.
What can I book in Phu Quoc with Haqqi Tours?
Day tours, attraction tickets, private airport transfers, flight tickets and ferry tickets, including North Phu Quoc Tour with Cua Can River Kayaking and Starfish Beach, South Phu Quoc Island Tour with Sao Beach and Pearl Farm and Tien Son Dinh Mountain Jungle Trek, Phu Quoc. Each has its own page, and the WhatsApp desk combines any of them into one plan with one written price.
How do I get from the airport to my hotel in Phu Quoc?
Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC) is in the centre of the island at Duong To, about 10 km south-east of Duong Dong, 15 to 20 minutes by car; Long Beach is a few minutes away, Ong Lang about 18 km, Sao Beach about 20 km and Sunset Town at An Thoi about 22 km. Our private transfer meets you at arrivals with a name board, tracks your flight and takes you door to door at a fixed price for the whole vehicle; the transfer pages list every route.
Is there public transport from the airport to Phu Quoc?
Flights link Phu Quoc with Ho Chi Minh City in about an hour, with Hanoi in about two hours and with several Asian cities, and fast ferries reach the island from Rach Gia and Ha Tien. There is no rail link, and buses are limited, so a private car is the easiest way to reach resorts spread from the far north to An Thoi. With luggage, a family or a late flight, the private car is the simpler choice.
Which tours are available in Phu Quoc?
Among them: North Phu Quoc Tour with Cua Can River Kayaking and Starfish Beach, South Phu Quoc Island Tour with Sao Beach and Pearl Farm, Tien Son Dinh Mountain Jungle Trek, Phu Quoc, Hon Thom Cable Car and Island-Hopping Snorkelling Tour, Phu Quoc and Private Snorkelling Boat Trip in South Phu Quoc. Each page says whether the day is private or small-group, what it includes and how long it lasts.
Are the tours private or in a group?
Both exist, and each tour page says which. A private tour has a vehicle and guide for your party alone; the desk can make most group tours private on request.
How do I book?
Fill in the form on any page or message us on WhatsApp with the date, the number of travellers and the hotel. A member of our team confirms the price and the details in writing within minutes.
Are the prices fixed?
Yes - every price is agreed in writing on WhatsApp before you travel and does not change on the day.
Do the drivers and guides speak Arabic or English?
It depends on the city and the day, so we do not promise a particular language; tell us your preference and we do our best. The WhatsApp desk always works in Arabic and English.
Can I change or cancel a booking in Phu Quoc?
Yes, in the same WhatsApp conversation. The terms depend on the product and on how close to the date the change comes; the desk states them before you pay.
