Nha Trang

Plan Nha Trang with Haqqi Tours: day tours, private airport transfers, attraction tickets and packages, run by our own team and confirmed on WhatsApp in Arabic or English.

Early morning on Nha Trang's seafront, the beach is already busy: swimmers in the calm bay, groups doing exercises on the sand, and round basket boats drifting just offshore. Beyond the long curve of the shore, green islands rise from the blue water, and mountains frame the bay on three sides. By the time the sun is high, boats are heading out to the islands, and the smell of grilled fish and fresh bread fills the streets behind the promenade.

Nha Trang at first sight

Nha Trang is one of Vietnam's best-known seaside cities, on the south-central coast between mountains and a bay scattered with islands. Its long town beach, coral reefs and island boat trips sit beside ancient Cham towers, a hilltop white Buddha, mineral mud baths and a lively city of markets and seafood restaurants, with quieter resort beaches to the north and south.

Why include Nha Trang in your itinerary?

  • A city on a beautiful bay. A long sandy beach runs the length of the city, with a palm-lined promenade, calm water much of the year and green islands just offshore, all within a few minutes of your hotel.
  • Islands, reefs and diving. The protected waters around Hon Mun are among Vietnam's best for snorkelling and diving, and island-hopping boat trips visit Hon Tam, Hon Mot and the bay's quiet coves.
  • History, culture and relaxation. The Cham towers of Po Nagar, Long Son Pagoda and its white Buddha, warm mineral mud baths and the waterfalls of Yang Bay add depth to a classic beach holiday.

Signature experiences in Nha Trang

Island-Hopping and Snorkelling

Nha Trang Bay has nineteen islands, and boat trips are the best way to enjoy them. Most combine snorkelling in the clear water of the Hon Mun marine protected area with swimming and lunch on islands such as Hon Tam and Hon Mot. Glass-bottom boats and diving for beginners are also available. We book shared and private boat trips with transfers from your hotel.

Po Nagar Cham Towers

On a hill by the Cai River, the red-brick towers of Po Nagar were built by the Cham kingdom between the eighth and thirteenth centuries and are still a place of worship today. Carved lintels, a large main tower and views over the river mouth and fishing boats make it one of the city's most important sights. Dress modestly, as shoulders and knees should be covered.

VinWonders Nha Trang on Hon Tre

On Hon Tre island across the bay, VinWonders Nha Trang is a large resort park with rides, a water park, an aquarium, gardens and evening shows, reached by boat from the mainland pier in a few minutes. It is a full day for families, with sea views from every corner. We arrange tickets and private transfers to the pier.

Mud Baths and Hot Springs

A short drive from the centre, mineral mud baths and hot springs are one of Nha Trang's favourite ways to relax. Visitors soak in warm mineral-rich mud, then rinse in hot spring water and swim in warm pools set among gardens. Private tubs are available for families and couples. It is ideal after a day at sea or on a cloudy afternoon.

Long Son Pagoda and Yang Bay

Long Son Pagoda sits at the foot of a hill crowned by a giant white seated Buddha, reached by a stairway with wide views over the city. Inland, about an hour away, Yang Bay is a forested park with waterfalls, natural pools and cultural performances by the local Raglai people. Our private tours by vehicle combine these with the city sights.

Neighbourhoods and quarters to know in Nha Trang

Tran Phu Seafront

Tran Phu Street runs along the main beach, lined with hotels of every level, cafés and restaurants facing the sea. It is the most practical base for first-time visitors, with the beach across the road, the night market and boat departures close by. Upper floors give fine views over the bay, and the promenade is pleasant in the evening.

The City Centre

A few streets back from the beach, the centre has the cathedral, Dam Market, local eateries and many mid-range hotels. It is busier and more local in feel, with easy access to the beach on foot. Staying here suits travellers who want to explore markets and city life as well as the sea.

Bai Dai and the Cam Ranh Coast

South of the city, Bai Dai is a long, quiet beach on the road to Cam Ranh International Airport, lined with large resorts with pools and private beaches. It suits families and couples seeking space and calm, about fifteen minutes from the airport and thirty-five to forty-five minutes from the city centre.

Ninh Van Bay and Doc Let

North of Nha Trang, Ninh Van Bay is a secluded bay of luxury villa resorts reached only by boat, while Doc Let is a long white-sand beach with a calm, rural feel. Both are ideal for a peaceful stay in nature, but far from city restaurants and sights, so private transfers are the easiest way in and out.

How long to stay in Nha Trang and how to pair it

Recommended stay

We recommend four nights in Nha Trang. Spend one day on an island-hopping and snorkelling boat trip, one at VinWonders on Hon Tre, one visiting Po Nagar, Long Son Pagoda and the mud baths, and one relaxing on the beach. With five or six nights, add Yang Bay or a few quiet days at Ninh Van Bay or Doc Let.

How to pair it

Nha Trang pairs naturally with Dalat, about three hours away by road through the mountains, and with Ho Chi Minh City, an hour away by air. A seven-day trip combines Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang. In ten days, add Dalat. A fourteen-day journey can link Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An, Dalat and Nha Trang.

Best time to visit Nha Trang and the rhythm of the day

Best months

The best time to visit Nha Trang is from January to August, when the sea is calm and the sky mostly clear; February to May is ideal for snorkelling and diving. June to August is hot and busy. The rainy season runs from September to December, with the heaviest rain in October and November and occasional storms that can cancel boat trips.

The daily rhythm

Nha Trang wakes early, with locals swimming and exercising on the beach at dawn. Boat trips leave in the morning when the sea is calmest, and lunch is often seafood on an island. Afternoons are for the beach, mud baths or a rest, and evenings bring the night market, seafront walks and dinner in the city's busy restaurants.

On-the-ground logistics in Nha Trang

Arrival

Cam Ranh International Airport, about thirty-five kilometres south of the city, receives flights from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and many Asian cities, and the drive to the centre takes about thirty-five to forty-five minutes. Trains on the north-south line also stop at Nha Trang station in the city. We issue flight and train tickets, and our private transfers take you from the airport or station to your hotel.

Getting around

Central Nha Trang is easy to explore on foot along the seafront, and taxis and ride-hailing apps are widely available. Boats to the islands leave from piers south of the centre. A private car with driver arranged by our team is the most comfortable way to reach Po Nagar, the mud baths, Yang Bay and the beaches north and south of the city.

Local etiquette tip

Nha Trang is relaxed and used to visitors. Swimwear belongs on the beach and at the pool, and shoulders and knees should be covered at Po Nagar and in pagodas, where shoes are removed in prayer halls. Ask before photographing people and bargain politely at markets. Tipping is appreciated for good service but not obligatory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to what travellers ask most about Nha Trang.

Where should first-time visitors stay in Nha Trang?

First-time visitors usually stay along Tran Phu Street on the seafront, with the beach across the road and restaurants, the night market and boat departures close by. For a quieter resort stay, Bai Dai near the airport is excellent, while Ninh Van Bay offers seclusion. Our team can suggest a hotel in any area and arrange your private airport transfer.

Can Nha Trang be done as a day trip from Dalat, or does it need an overnight stay?

A day trip from Dalat is possible but tiring, with about six hours on the road in total and little time for the sea. Nha Trang's island trips, beaches and mud baths deserve at least three or four nights. We arrange private transfers between Dalat and Nha Trang, flight tickets and tours to fit your plans.

What is the dress code and etiquette in Nha Trang?

Nha Trang is relaxed, and swimwear is normal on the beach and at the pool. In the city, wear light clothes, and cover shoulders and knees at Po Nagar and in pagodas, removing shoes where others do. Ask before photographing people and bargain politely at markets. Our guides explain local customs on the way.

Is Nha Trang tourist friendly, and is halal food available?

Yes. Nha Trang welcomes visitors from all over the world, and hotels and restaurants are used to many nationalities. Halal-certified food is limited, but a few Indian and halal-labelled restaurants operate in the tourist area, and seafood, fish and vegetable dishes are easy to find. The nearest well-established mosques are in Ho Chi Minh City. We can advise on restaurants.

Is it safe to travel to Nha Trang now?

Nha Trang is generally considered safe, with a friendly local community. Take normal care with belongings and traffic, swim between the flags and respect sea conditions. From September to December, storms can bring heavy rain and cancel boat trips. Before departure, check your own government's official travel advice and keep our WhatsApp line handy.

What are the must-do things in Nha Trang?

The must-do things in Nha Trang include an island-hopping and snorkelling trip around Hon Mun, the Po Nagar Cham Towers, Long Son Pagoda and its white Buddha, a mineral mud bath, VinWonders on Hon Tre and the seafront at sunset. Our boat trips and private tours combine these at a relaxed seaside pace.

How many days do you need in Nha Trang?

Four days is ideal for Nha Trang: one for an island boat trip, one for VinWonders, one for Po Nagar, Long Son Pagoda and the mud baths, and one for the beach. Three days cover the highlights at a quicker rhythm, while a week allows Yang Bay and quiet days at Ninh Van Bay or Doc Let.

What can I book in Nha Trang with Haqqi Tours?

Day tours, private airport transfers, flight tickets and train tickets, including Nha Trang City Half-Day Tour with Po Nagar and Hon Chong, Nha Trang Islands Snorkelling Cruise with Mud Bath and Lunch and Cai River Sunset Stand-Up Paddleboard Tour, Nha Trang. Each has its own page, and the WhatsApp desk combines any of them into one plan with one written price.

How do I get from the airport to my hotel in Nha Trang?

Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR) is on the Cam Ranh peninsula about 35 km south of Nha Trang city centre, 35 to 45 minutes by car on the coastal road; Bai Dai beach is about 10 to 15 km away, the Ninh Van Bay pier about 60 to 70 km and Doc Let about 85 km. Our private transfer meets you at arrivals with a name board, tracks your flight and takes you door to door at a fixed price for the whole vehicle; the transfer pages list every route.

Is there public transport from the airport to Nha Trang?

Flights link Cam Ranh with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and many Asian cities, and trains on the north-south line reach Ho Chi Minh City in about eight hours and Da Nang in about ten. Dalat is about three hours away by mountain road. Airport buses run to the city, but a private car is easiest with luggage or for the resorts north and south. With luggage, a family or a late flight, the private car is the simpler choice.

Which tours are available in Nha Trang?

Among them: Nha Trang City Half-Day Tour with Po Nagar and Hon Chong, Nha Trang Islands Snorkelling Cruise with Mud Bath and Lunch, Cai River Sunset Stand-Up Paddleboard Tour, Nha Trang, Jungle Quad Adventure, Nha Trang and Hon Mieu and Hon Tam Islands Day Trip with Mud Bath, Nha Trang. Each page says whether the day is private or small-group, what it includes and how long it lasts.

Are the tours private or in a group?

Both exist, and each tour page says which. A private tour has a vehicle and guide for your party alone; the desk can make most group tours private on request.

How do I book?

Fill in the form on any page or message us on WhatsApp with the date, the number of travellers and the hotel. A member of our team confirms the price and the details in writing within minutes.

Are the prices fixed?

Yes - every price is agreed in writing on WhatsApp before you travel and does not change on the day.

Do the drivers and guides speak Arabic or English?

It depends on the city and the day, so we do not promise a particular language; tell us your preference and we do our best. The WhatsApp desk always works in Arabic and English.

Can I change or cancel a booking in Nha Trang?

Yes, in the same WhatsApp conversation. The terms depend on the product and on how close to the date the change comes; the desk states them before you pay.
