Overview
ESCAPE is an outdoor adventure and water park set in the jungle at Teluk Bahang, in the green north-west corner of Penang Island. Instead of motorised rides, the park is built around active, human-powered fun: rope courses and climbing walls, zip lines and zip coasters, tube races down grassy slopes and a water zone with a giant tipping bucket and one of the longest tube water slides ever built. This one-day ticket gives you access to the rides and activities open on your visit, from 10:00 to 18:00. It is a favourite with families with active children, teenagers and groups of friends who want a full day outdoors.

Full Description
ESCAPE Penang: A Jungle Adventure Park
ESCAPE opened in Teluk Bahang as an eco-friendly theme park designed to get visitors moving rather than sitting on machines. Most activities rely on your own energy, gravity and the natural slope of the hillside, and the attractions are woven between tall trees, so even on hot days much of the park stays shaded. The setting at the foot of forested hills gives it a very different feel from city theme parks.
Many families ask whether ESCAPE Penang is worth visiting with children. For active kids and teenagers it usually becomes the highlight of a Penang trip, as they can climb, slide, race and splash all day. Younger children have gentler play areas, while adults often find themselves queuing for the zip coasters as eagerly as their kids.
The Adventure Zone
The dry side of the park is a playground of challenges. Rope courses at different heights test balance and nerve, climbing walls and towers suit both beginners and confident climbers, and zip lines send you gliding between platforms above the trees. The zip coasters combine a roller coaster with a zip line, swinging riders through tight turns along a track among the treetops.
Other favourites include tube racing down a long grassy slope, giant swings and team games where friends compete side by side. Each activity has its own height, weight and age rules for safety, and staff give a short briefing before you start. Wear sports clothes and closed shoes for this zone, and plan the busiest rides for the morning when queues are shorter.
The Water Zone
When the afternoon heat builds, head to the water zone. Its centrepiece is the giant tipping bucket, which fills slowly and then empties a wave of water over everyone waiting below, to loud cheers. Splash pools, water play structures and slides keep younger children busy for hours.
The most famous attraction is the long tube water slide that winds down the hillside through the forest for more than a kilometre, entered a world record for its length when it opened. Riding it takes several minutes and is a real highlight of any visit. Proper swim attire is required in the water zone; full-coverage swimwear made of swim fabric is common in Malaysia, and lockers and changing rooms are available on site.
How to Get to ESCAPE and Teluk Bahang
The park lies on Jalan Teluk Bahang in the north-west of Penang Island, about 40 minutes by car from George Town and 10 minutes beyond the beaches of Batu Ferringhi. Transport is not included, but the park is easy to reach by ride-hailing app, and we can arrange a private transfer on request so you are not waiting for a car at closing time.
Teluk Bahang is also home to Entopia butterfly and nature park and the entrance to Penang National Park, so you can build a full day in the area. Opening hours are 10:00 to 18:00, and opening days can change outside school holidays; our team checks that the park is open on your date. Weekdays outside holidays are the best time to visit for shorter queues.
