My Son Sanctuary and the Champa kingdom
My Son Sanctuary is a group of Hindu temples built in red brick between roughly the fourth and thirteenth centuries by the kings of Champa, dedicated mostly to the god Shiva. It sits in a green valley ringed by hills in Quang Nam province, and it was recognised by UNESCO in 1999 as a rare example of Cham religious architecture.
