Boracay Sunset Cruise with Paddleboarding and Kayaking
4.7 (328 reviews) from travellers who booked this experience
Overview
Boracay is famous for its sunsets, and this relaxed two-hour cruise puts you right in front of one. The boat leaves from Station 1 on White Beach in the late afternoon and anchors in calm, clear water off the coast. Before the sky turns gold, you have time to try stand-up paddleboarding, paddle a kayak, snorkel over the sandy shallows or simply float on tubes and giant floats; there is even a mermaid tail for fun photos and a massage on board. Then everyone settles in to watch the sun sink into the sea, with the traditional sailboats gliding past. It is a shared group cruise with an English-speaking guide, ideal for couples, friends and families.

Full Description
White Beach and Station 1
White Beach is the long, west-facing shore of Boracay, about 4 km of fine, powdery sand that made the island one of the best-known beaches in Asia. It is divided informally into Stations 1, 2 and 3, named after the old boat stations. Station 1, in the north, has the widest and softest stretch of sand and the calmest atmosphere, and it is where this cruise begins.
Since a major environmental clean-up in 2018, the beach has stricter rules: no building close to the water, no smoking and no littering on the sand, which keeps it beautiful. Arrive a little early at the meeting point to enjoy the beach before boarding, and remember that White Beach is where the island's evening life gathers, so finding your boat is easiest with our directions on WhatsApp.
The Boracay Sunset from the Sea
Because White Beach faces west, Boracay is one of the best places in the Philippines to watch the sun go down. From the beach the view is lovely, but from a boat anchored offshore it is wider and quieter, with the outline of the island behind you and the traditional double-outrigger sailboats, called paraw, crossing the horizon in silhouette.
Sunset time varies through the year, roughly between 17:30 and 18:30, and the 15:30 start is planned so that you enjoy the water activities first and the colours at the end. The best time to visit Boracay for clear sunsets is the dry season from December to May. From June to October the southwest wind can make White Beach choppy, and the crew may move to calmer water or reschedule for safety.
Paddleboarding, Kayaking and Snorkelling
Once the boat anchors, the sea becomes your playground. Stand-up paddleboards are stable in calm water, and the guide gives beginners a few tips to get standing. Kayaks let you explore the coastline at your own pace, while snorkelling gear opens a view onto the sandy seabed and small fish below.
If you prefer to relax, tubes and giant floats let you drift in the warm water, and a massage on board is included for a gentle end to the day. The mermaid tail is a favourite for playful photos. Life jackets are available, and the guide keeps an eye on everyone in the water. Please do not stand on or touch coral if you see any, as it is easily damaged.
Getting to Boracay and Planning Your Evening
How to get to Boracay? Most travellers fly to Caticlan airport, about five minutes from Caticlan jetty, then take a short boat ride of around 15 minutes to Cagban port on the island. Another option is Kalibo International Airport, about one and a half to two hours away by road plus the boat. We can arrange private transfers for both routes.
Is a Boracay sunset cruise worth it? For many visitors it is the most memorable two hours of their stay. After the cruise you are back on White Beach just as the evening begins. Halal food is limited on the island, but seafood, grilled fish and vegetarian dishes are easy to find, and our team is happy to suggest places for dinner.
