Full Description

An Thoi harbour and Coral Park

The day starts with hotel pickup and a short drive south to a pearl farm near the harbour, where you have about thirty minutes to see how Phu Quoc pearls are cultivated before check-in. From the harbour a modern speedboat heads into the An Thoi archipelago, a scatter of green islands off the island's southern tip, protected as part of a marine area with clear, warm water.

The first stop is Coral Park, a short ride away, a marine activity platform above shallow reefs. Here you can take a quick swim or look over the water; an underwater helmet walk is available as an optional extra at your own cost for those who want to stroll on the seabed. It is a brief, lively stop before the quieter islands, about fifteen minutes.

May Rut Island: white sand and shallow water

May Rut Island, often called one of the prettiest in the archipelago, is known for its bright white sand, leaning coconut palms and calm, shallow water that turns every shade of turquoise. You spend about two hours here, enough time to swim, relax in the shade and take photographs. The guide offers photo and drone video support, so you go home with aerial shots of the island.

If photos are not your priority, the guide can arrange an additional snorkelling session instead, at no extra cost. Many visitors searching for the best island-hopping tour in Phu Quoc are looking for exactly this mix: a beautiful beach, time to do nothing and a sense of being far from the main island. Sun loungers and showers are available on the island for a small fee.

Gam Ghi Island snorkelling

Gam Ghi Island is one of the best-preserved snorkelling spots in southern Phu Quoc. The reef lies close to the island in clear water, with brain and branching corals, sea anemones, giant clams and schools of colourful reef fish. Snorkelling equipment and life jackets are provided, and the guide explains how to enter the water and stay safe before you start.

You have about an hour here, the main snorkelling time of the day. Beginners can stay near the surface with a life jacket while confident swimmers explore further along the reef. Visibility is best in the dry season from November to April. Please do not stand on or touch the coral; it grows only a few centimetres a year and is easily damaged.

Hon Thom Island: buffet, water park and theme park

Hon Thom is the largest island of the An Thoi group and now a leisure island with beaches, a large water park and a themed amusement park. After the snorkelling, the speedboat brings you here for a buffet lunch with Vietnamese and international dishes, including plenty of seafood, rice, noodles, vegetables and fruit.

Then you have around two and a half hours of free time. The water park has slides, wave pools and lazy rivers for all ages, while the theme park offers rides and shows; tickets for both are included. You can also simply rest on the beach. Remember to bring a change of clothes, as you will be wet from the water park before the cable car ride.

The Hon Thom cable car back to Sunset Town

The Hon Thom cable car, opened in 2018, stretches about 7.9 kilometres from Hon Thom over Hon Dua and Hon Roi islands to An Thoi, and holds the record as the world's longest three-rope cable car over the sea. The ride takes about fifteen minutes, with cabins gliding high above fishing boats, colourful villages and the turquoise channel between the islands.

Many travellers ask how to get to Hon Thom Island; on this tour you arrive by speedboat and return by cable car, enjoying both views. The ride ends near Sunset Town, the new Mediterranean-style seafront quarter at the southern tip of Phu Quoc. From there you are driven back to your hotel, arriving around five in the afternoon after about eight and a half hours.
