Full Description

Mongo Land and the Rainbow Slide

Mongo Land is an open-air adventure park outside Dalat, styled as a little corner of the steppe with yurts, windmills, wide green meadows and flower beds. The Mongo Land tour stop is built around the Rainbow Slide, a long colourful dry slide where you ride a tube downhill, plus a grass slide and other simple outdoor games such as archery.

There is also a small animal area and a place to rent traditional-style costumes for photos, so children and adults alike find something to do. Mongo Land tickets are included with this tour, and we spend about an hour and a half here. Opening hours follow daylight and can change by season, and the activities are outdoors, so wet weather may close some of them for a while.

Me Linh Coffee Plantation

Me Linh is one of the larger coffee plantations around Dalat, with terraces that run down a hillside between rows of coffee bushes. Your guide explains how Central Highlands coffee is grown, picked, dried and roasted, and why Dalat's cool altitude suits the crop. Roasting also takes place on site, and a small shop sells beans and coffee accessories.

The Dalat coffee plantation tour element is about an hour, with time to walk the paths, sit at one of the seating areas and enjoy the view over the valley. A drink is not part of the price, so order a coffee or a tea if you wish. Visiting before or after the more energetic stops makes a good break in the programme.

Luge Kart at Cao Nguyen Hoa

Cao Nguyen Hoa, sometimes translated as the Dalat Flower Highlands, is a leisure area of pine forest and flower gardens. Its luge kart is a small gravity-powered cart that you steer yourself along a winding track, braking and leaning as you go, which is why a Dalat luge kart ride is popular with teenagers and adults as well as children.

The ride is optional and paid separately at the entrance, as the luge kart ticket is not part of the tour price. Operators may set minimum age or height rules for riders, so ask your guide on the day. If you prefer a calmer option, you can swap the ride for a walk through the gardens or choose the Fresh Garden instead; we plan about an hour and a half for this stop.

Fresh Garden flower fields

Fresh Garden is the alternative to the luge kart and appeals to travellers who enjoy photography and gentle strolls. Its flower fields are laid out with a mix of themed corners, such as an ornate gate, a flower house and a windmill, which make bright backdrops all year in Dalat's mild climate.

Entry to Fresh Garden is paid separately, so decide with your guide which stop suits your group. Because Dalat is known as the City of a Thousand Flowers, this option is a good fit for families with younger children, couples and anyone who would rather skip rides. Early light is best for photos, and the garden paths are flat and easy to walk.
